No More (Super) Heroes Anymore!!!

Sorry all you superhero fans but I can't take it any more.

I'm sick, yes sick of bleedin' Batman, Superman, Hulk, Spiderman and all their bloody, spandex clad ilk.

Before anyone chirps up 'have you ever seen a superhero film?' the answer is yes, unfortunately. Yep, I've been dragged to see most of these films and I have to say, nothing bores me more than a block busting Superhero movie.

Theres many a thread on here thats dedicated to the genre and I wouldn't want to spoil the fun with my sour-puss views. So, if like me, you moan at the thought of yet another man in tights hitting the big screen near you come and share your misery. :D

Sorry again to all those superhero fans.

Hi A69.

Sorry but I've yet to see a superhero movie that I thought was good. Tell a lie, I thought Batman Returns was ok (thanks to Danny Devito and Michelle Pfiffer).

Maybe I missed the good ones and have just been dragged along to the crap ones. I dunno.

On the whole I find them excruciatingly dull affairs.

And can I also add Harry Potter to the superhero clan - those films bore me rigid.

(moan over:))

You're right, Marvel are responsible for the majority of the 'super' movie junk out there. And it doesn't sound they're going to give us a rest any time soon. Up next: Captain America, Thor, Ant Man...

That being said, I wish DC would branch out from Batman and Superman and give some of their other characters a chance on the big screen. Although they do have Watchmen coming out next year. That should be interesting.

OP: when these films are bad, they're excruciating, but when they're good they are great entertainment. :)

Oh, moan, there's too much of this and that. There's too much of a selection. Stop making so many films which are popular with a mass audience, I'm forced, with a gun to my head, to watch them by my selfish bulling family/frienRAB.:D:rolleyes:

I agree that many of the big superhero films are absolute tripe, but there's been some great ones too it has to be said.

For every Hulk (Mk 1 & 2 both rubbish) there's a Hellboy (1st superb, 2nd looking equally brilliant).

It will die down in a few years, Hollywood go through a couple of years of churning out the same old crap. Then move onto something else, something they think will make them lots of money.

Hollywood is unoriginal and boring, one of the many reasons I refuse to go to the cinema any more. Once in a blue moon there will be an original script or story, some how it slips through the cracks; only to be cloned and copied by Hollywood till it dies a death.

I predict the next thing will be post apocalyptic or cyberpunk genre. With I am Legend last year and Neuromancer (yes the William Gibson book) soon, it could be heading that way.

Believe it or not, I actually enjoy a bit of popcorn fodder now and again and I go along to see these films with an open mind but I nearly always come away thinking 'I've just wasted 2 hours of my life!' But I go all the same because I'm a good sport and surely it would be wrong of me to be critical of these films if I've never actually sat through them.

At the end of the day, I don't like these dumb films, they bore me senseless, surely I'm aloud to say that?

'silly generalisation' or not, I don't like them, I think they're dumb. :D

I don't understand why people are getting so tetchy over this. I merely started the thread as an antithesis to all the many superhero threaRAB on this board, it's just a bit of fun, it's not like I'm saying they should be banned or anything. Jeez, lighten up folks.:)
