No MMS on BlackBerry Pearl with unlimited messaging?

Kinda late in on this but would like to address a couple of points.

First off, MMS remains a service provided by your carrier and not RIM. You do however need two service books as these are required to enable the client and provide the transport settings. These service books do not originate from BIS however, but instead the RIM relay.

If you are short of these service books and you are provisioned and active on the relay then re-register via HRT rather than sending BIS service books from your carriers BIS web self serve.

As was mentioned elsewhere, once you have the required service books the service will work whether you are active on the relay or not. I would guess the T-Mobile oojamaflip simply creates the required service books.

I've had the Pearl for a little bit and my MMS was working before I updated the phone which then just deleted my MMS options. SO it does work without buying the BB plan, but it's really the software that has the problem. i'm pretty sure there's an application that you are able to download...i just dont know which one it was again.

Seems wierd but I guess they figure if your going to buy a phone that is meant for the data plan I guess they decided to route MMS via data. But see I dont even use MMS. I just send pics from my email address to peoples phones. Every provider on any phone as an email address. its usually their number with 1 in front and then the extension after it you can google for various networks.

i have a pearl with tmobile no blackberry plan but i have 400 texts for $4.00 per month and i can mms or sms people....all i do is go to the messages click the menu button and choose compose mms .........i can send and receive them with no problem.....so id try calling customer service again and ask to talk to a blackberry tech....

guys.. you're a little late. when this thread was made there was no MMS enabler option through tmo. at the time BIS or BES was required. there was also no email only plan option. check the dates of posts before bumping..

For those that dont know Tmob now offers the following: $0 - BB msg option allowing sms and mms abilities. keep in mind you need the feature to do so for free. Email only is 9.99 a month, email and internet is 19.99 allowing connection to BES or BIS therefore allowing bbmessenger to work through the blackberry server.

Newbie here. I just got my Pearl today and a friend sent me some pics messages but all I got was a message saying that I should go to a website site to view pics. But after reading all of these posts its got me wondering if its not his tmobile service and not my phone at all. My carrier is US Cellular and I have the whole shebang and he is the only friend that I have that has Tmobile.

Call tmobile and ask for the blackberry dept. and then ask for a supervisor, b/c you dont need the internet plan for mms, whoever told you that was dumb. Someone told me that also but when I called back I talked to a supervisor in the bb dept. and he set up the mms for me.
