No Local News

Well, the monkeys at BEV are asleep at the switch tonight... the never turned on the local Ottawa news at 6pm on channel 196.

Three calls later I'm now on hold with India and they have no idea.
 
Is there no other local news provider ?
Or do you enjoy the call to tech support?
I'd let it slide, and watch the news on another channel, unless you are really bored
 
I guess I'm a creature of habit. :)

The CBC doesn't have any local news on Sundays and that leaves A-channel which I'd prefer to avoid.
 
I always keep a cheap indoor antenna attached to my receiver for all the times bell screws up or their signal is lost that way I can at least watch my two local channels and TVO.
 
NFL football was being carried on CTV at that time, and therefore CJOH, so there was no news tonight.

Last night, they flipped the switch and there was an hour of football on 196.

Thanks congo, that makes sense.

The support folks insisted that they had flipped the switch and I should be seeing CJOH on 196... guess they couldn't actually tell from India.
 
Our local Ottawa station is only on for the local news but , as it is showing the news they advertise local programming for that channel. But as soon n as the news is over it goes silent. I would like to watch some of the programes on that channel. I think bev is doing everything wrong the channel I am referring to is channel 196.
 
The only local shows on CTV Ottawa (formerly CJOH) that I know of are Regional Contact and Tech Now and both are shown right after the news on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

What are local programs are not being shown?
