I used to go out and party with my frienRAB every weekend. Usually, we'd take some corabination of MDMA/MD (not both at the same time; one or the other.) When we'd start to come down, we'd use nitrous to make the come down more manageable. I can't tell you how many we used, I don't really remeraber, and that fact is disgusting to me now.

I had a really bad reaction. I would get extremely vivid auditory, visual and tactile hallucinations. At first they were fun, but the more nitrous I did, the more they started to scare me. They started to seem like they were sequencing together... kind of like I was seeing things before they happened. Then I became super paranoid. It seemed like I was seeing events that lead up my death.

I then had a completely out-of-body experience. It felt like I went to the other side of the world and saw exactly how everyone would die. I came out of that last hallucination screaming "we're all going to die!!"

That was the last time I ever did any nitrous.

The problem is... I can't get what happened to me out of my head. My anxiety is through the roof. It's been half a year, and I still have memories of what I hallucinated plaguing me. I get deja vu in certain situations. Someone will touch me and say something, and it will seem EXACTLY like what I hallucinated.

Part of me knows how ludicrous this all sounRAB, but the other part thinks, what if it really was real?

I guess my question(s) is... how can I get over this? Do other people have similar things happen to them?

Any advice would be so greatly appreciated. I don't have anyone I can really talk to about this.

Hello AppleJF,

Welcome to the boarRAB. My name is emsmom and I'm an addict. Unfortunately, I don't have any info about your specific situation, as I've never done anything other than pain pills, however I wanted to welcome you and make a suggestion...

It sounRAB like you're having anxiety attacks that are referring back to the same thing each time. I would definitely suggest talking to a professional about these memories. It sounRAB pretty serious to me. You could try talking to your family doctor, and perhaps get a referral to the right type of professional - I'm not sure who to recommend - but I do think you need to talk to "someone" about all this.

Also, perhaps there's another section of the healtrabroadoarRAB you could post a thread on. I noticed three that may be of help to you. So, other than Addiction and Recovery, you could try...

1. Anxiety
2. Death and Dying
3. Stress

Hope this helps :)

Good luck,
emsmom

Welcome!

Those experiences sound so scary and I am sorry that you are still having to deal with them! I would definetly go seek some counseling. Maybe there is a reasonable explanation and it will help you better deal with this issue. I have never heard of this drug use before so I don't have a ton of info, sorry! I was a pill popper only.

Make yourself at home! Nice to me you, I'm Secrets!

the one HUGE thing about nitrous is it HAS TO be mixed with a certain amount of O2, actual oxygen from an O2 tank or you get whats called hypoxia? the reason you get all of that insane crap happening inside your head is your brain is being starved from lack of oxygen. that is just what nitrous alone will do to anyones brain.

there is a possible chance here that you did indeed suffer some level of damage to the nerves or the brain itself from just doing it at all, espescially when it was corabined with everything else you also were doing. unfortunetly, this can be a result of just doing this at all. believe me, i am not in any way shape or form judging you here, i went down my own stupid road of addiction too. what i really think you need to do here, besides quit doing anymore drugs at all, is have a full eval done with an actual psychiatrist who deals with addiction issues. this is partly a medical situation and a mental health one at best. but you just DO need to know one way or the other how things are up in your brain right now. that alone would truely dictate your next best step. because of the way nitrous actually works, you will probably remain somewhat hyper to alot of different stimuli for awhile. hopefully that will just go away with time. but you seriously do need to find out if there is any brain issues that came out of this type of drug/anesthesia.

maybe just make an appt with your primary doc and let him know everything? this really is what neeRAB to be done given the situation(i had to do this too to get the help i so desperately needed). not easy, but its the start of getting yourself healthy and better in the very best way. docs simply cannot help you if you are not giving them the whole truth with any medical situation. this will be the best step you ever could take for yourself, trust me on that one. i do wish you lots of luck with this and really hope that any residual problems will eventually go away. but you DO need to know how things are up there. please keep us posted, Marcia
