Nirvana

If I liked a song, I'll probably always like it, sure I'll get tired of it playing again and again. I mean I still think Stairway is a great song, but I do get tired of hearing it constantly.

Still, it's always annoying to see someone fap over a band only to later change their opinions and go on about how talentless that band is and how you're a moron if you like them and so on. Just because it took them so long to realise that other people liked them, which is totally uncool.

i reckon they are a little overrated...but i still love them. kinda freaky seeing as i was born after he died :'( and i still love them

it makes such a nice change from kanye west & rihanna & amy winehouse & any other lame-ass 'popular' singer you can think of..

Listening to Nirvana now, I kinda forgot how much I liked them. Not listened to them in a while, I'll have to put Nevermind on the stereo soon.

Are you trying to say that the music is so strong that it even sounRAB good paired with the horrendous Rick Astley or just think that posting a clever video means you have a bigger **** then me?

Either way, that was awesome, and you probably have a bigger **** then me.

especially considering he painted the led zep logos on his wall (at least according to interviews i remeraber). he wanted to play music for a living. they wouldn't have been playing showcase gigs for major labels if they wanted to remain obscure. i have no doubts that he wanted to maintain his personal aesthetic to his music, but to remain obscure, don't think so.

sub pop cashed in on nirvana when they sold the remainder of their recording contract to geffen. cobain might not have liked it but he didn't need to. ever had an outstanding debt be taken over by a 3rd party collection agency? contracts can change corporate hanRAB without the knowledge or will of the individual involved. if the guys from sub pop sat down with cobain prior to selling their rights to the future albums it was a good, but unnecessary, gesture on their part.

the only element of label pressure i recall reading about was the use of butch vig as a producer for nevermind. they didn't like his overall sound, but he was the hot producer of the day and geffen didn't leave much choice for the band that had yet to prove themselves in the market.

I used to love Nirvana I still really enjoy some stuff by them. I was born around the time they became really big so I didn't have to put up with all the annoying fans I suppose. But I think they get alot of shit because well they are overrated as is Kurt. I mean if he hadn't died do you really think people would be going about how he was the greatest songwriter of his generation? They were pretty much at the right place at the right time.

Kurt Cobain was very arabitious, he simply wanted the rock 'n' roll lifestyle and everything that came with it. When he got it, he fucking hated it and bitched and moaned about it.

Boo boo let's take some perspective here; you only think Queen is hated on unjustly because you're having DDD flashbacks (where Queen was ridden hard occasionally). Teenagers LOVE Queen, and so do other demographics that aren't men nearing mid-life crisis mode.

But then some music is supposed to be disposable.

There's been plenty of times when i've liked a song , played it for a few months and then never listened to that band again.

I don't think all music should be timeless there's nothing wrong with taking a snapshot of a particular moment enjoying it & then moving on to something else.

People are far too possessive about music.

ahhh nirvana ... the person i envy most in this world is frances cobain, and yet she's the last person i would ever want to be...

kurt cobain i think was more sensitive, thoughtful and deep then people gave him credit for
