They reacted pretty quick to this, I hope this is a sign of things to come with Nintendo listening to their consumers and upgrading/fixing accordingly

I wish I could buy games right from Nintendo I'm going to order a nunchuck and the straps I think.
 
I actually work at a place that for some reason, had a few spools of very strong, yet very thing stainless steel wire.

I nabbed a few feet and braided it around the wii strap cord, then used a bit of heat shrink tube over it. works great.
