nintendo releases their 2007 line up

EA, Ubisoft, etc are 3rd party.
I'm not too sure which devs are 2nd party for the Wii but last gen Silicon Knights were 2nd dev they made Eternal Darkness for GCN.

What does the cost of dev kits have to do with whether 3rd party developers want to develop for Wii? Dev Kits for Gamecube and N64 were cheap as well, but they had very little 3rd party support. $2-10k to spend on a dev kit is nothing for a developer. That has never been the issue.

The fact is, the vast majority of 3rd party titles are using 360/PS3 as their lead platform, and most of their games won't be ported to Wii because Wii is way too underpowered in comparison to be able to use the same game assets used for the 360/PS3 versions.

Wii's lack of power is the main reason it will have a very limited library of games. Developers simply aren't going to port their premier titles for it.

PS3 and 360 will have a library at least 5X the size of Wii.

that would be great, it would be like a skip-it. i think it would be cool if they made some little foot attachments and you could like kick the ball and shit.

The lists for 360 and PS3 aren't complete as well, but they are still much bigger than Wii's.

Wii fans are deluding themselves if they think Wii will get 3rd party support anywhere close to what 360 and PS3 will get.

The lead producer of Castlevania said he has no current plans to make a Wii version of the franchise because he thought the controller on it was gimmicky. Seriously, he did.

what makes you think that???? many third party developers have stated that they absolutely love developing for the wii. its cheap, and its a very easy system to develop for. the huge load of launch titles should have made you rethink that statement before you wrote it....

no, he thinks we care about getting every single cookie cutter FPS that comes out ported to the wii. I got FPS's out of my system back in the day with doom and quake. now they bore the living shit out of me.
