Nintendo DS Lite; pre-owned; is this a good idea?

I'm looking to buy a pre-owned Nintendo DS Lite.

Okay, so, I have $157.70 to spend.

First of all, I need the DS. EB Game's pre-owned DS is $128.00. When I buy this, I will have at least $18.00 left.

After that, my father will give me $40.00 after he spent $70.00 on my brother. This means I have roughly about $58.00. This will be enough to buy a brand new Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver game from Big-W. It costs $54.00 from there.

I will be left with about $4.00.

Do you think this is good? Is it worth the money I'm prepared to spend?

i got a brand new ds and pokemon SS a few weeks ago, after someone stole it before.
anyway i suggest you should buy a new one, at JB-HIFI there $170 brand new but if you dont mind about the new or second hand then go ahead for the preowned one. and toys r us has pokemon SS and HG for about 50 dollars can save about 4 dollars, lol

so should you do it?

in my case, id buy everything knew, you never know what has happend to the DS someone might of pissed and not wash there hands and play it
