Nintendo Consolidated Financial Results + Total of VC games sold

I've seen a lot go on eBay for ~$40, and that was the cartridge only. I'm sure a really good or mint condition cartridge with a matching box would go for a bit more

doh,

I forgot how long it takes someone to finish a game alone in thier parents basement on a Friday night was such an important factor of a products success

i wouldn't mind paying the money for vc if they added online multiplayer to games or something else that is exclusive to the wii

but if it's the exact game that i already own or can download, why would i pay for it. at least on xbocks live, they added online multiplayer to street fighter 2 and mortal kombat 3 so i wouldn't regret my purchase.

The two Zelda titles are easily worth $5 and $8. If I didn't already have the original cartridges/boxes of each, I'd be willing to spend a lot more than that to replace what I own. $5/$8 is a great price

Not to mention that a lot of the more rare titles (Super Mario RPG that will be released) are going for a lot more than the $8 price tag through the Virtual Console. Wasn't Super Mario RPG like ~$70 when it was brand new? Other games that might be included (Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, etc) also cost quite a bit on eBay (given you want to buy a good condition one with a box and such, not some crappy cartridge-only purchase), and will be great deals through the Virtual Console

Not everybody is a cheapskate who won't dish out $5-$10 here and there for classic games, to support a company who brought us lots of great memories of gaming

So you're telling me the current VC games are worth paying for?

Don't deny the truth. Nintendo fans will buy anything Nintendo puts out, even if it's the same revised product for the 9th time.

Nintendo is brilliant. They figured out a strategy to allow them to double charge people for games. What I mean is, they're selling you games that you might've/probably purchased before AND they managed to do it with the least possible amount of effort. Basically all they had to do was write an emulator and then sell DRM'd copies of their rom dumps. No updates required. 1.5 million games at an average cost of what, 6 dollars? That's 9 million bones for pretty much writing a couple emulators and distributing games at a trickle rate so people will buy more.
