don't know if its here but i am going to try it. i am looking to buy the upgrade-kit but i am wondering if i should. will they add any more channels on that satellite in the next couple months? will it become necessary? I need help please. if you know the cost, i got a 5900 pvr and a 2700 receivers, let me know.

New channels are comming soon on N2:
404, GOLTV
690, CGTV
721, RTVI+
722, RTVI
727, NDTV
728, NTV
729, SONY
730, CARBN

N2 still has space on it, and will most likely be the place for new channels(especially once they get Nimiq 4 up there).

N4 is supposedly an old DTV satellite (DTV6?). Rumors were it was going to be moved beside N2 around December. There are other powers at work though to get proper authorization to move it & such. I'm sure once someone hears more info on it, it will be posted here.

Just personal preference, Id rather see more movie channels or something than other language channels.

I would think that those subscribers who speak those languages would be quite excited (unless they care very little for their own culture and language). As it is, I don't expect that you are part of the target market for these new channels.

hi everyone with the addition of the new channels and preview of espically CBN i was wondering if with a model 3100 receiver i'd be able to view the free preview or even the channel

I wonder if RTVI and RTVI+ are Russian TV International (http://www.rtvi.ru/) and also Russian RTVI+

also SONY, this could be Sony Entertainment Television Asia (SET Asia) - http://www.crtc.gc.ca/archive/ENG/Notices/2005/pb2005-79.htm

NDTV ... could this be ...
New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV): NTDTV is an independent, non-profit, Chinese-language television network with its headquarters in New York City. Its programming is more than 90% Mandarin, and includes world news, arts and entertainment, variety shows and documentary/educational programs.

NTV ? - nothing like this on the "lists of eligible satellite services"
CARBN ? - Caribbean ? - nothing like this on the "lists of eligible satellite services"

just speculating...

hey thanks allot , i did see the announcement of the free preview channels in the program guide and oddly enough the closest channels i have is 731 , so i dunno , maybe contact bell tomorrow ..but thx allot eh

CARBN = www.catntv.ca? (says comming soon to expressvu) & "For Bell Expressvu customers who want to subscribe to CATN TV, please call Bell Expressvu and tell them you want Bell to carry the ATN Caribbean and African Television Network"

VERY interesting. I've search through the "list of eligible satellite services" (http://www.crtc.gc.ca/archive/ENG/Notices/2005/pb2005-105.htm) and I coulnd't find anything regarding "Caribbean", "African" or "CATN".

Is it possible that BEV could NOW start broadcasting third-language services without the CRTC approval ? I doubt it. Maybe they know something in advance (like a CRTC approval coming soon :)

Something I assumed seeing as you posted in this thread- do you have your receiver set to pick up Nimiq 2? (The "82" bird.)

Because that channel is there.

728, ARY

NTV is now 720. N2 sure is busy today. I wonder if Bell is going to make some big announcement before X-mas;)

I can't see any of the free previews with my 3100.
How do I set it up to see Nimiq 2?

I just did a TP load scan of Nimiq-2 and found that all of these new channels are up there right now!

Most likely DirectTV-6 (Nimiq-4) will replace DirectTV-1 (Nimiq-3) at 91* and will see DirectTV-1 (Nimiq-3) moved to 82* to help boot power and capacity in that orbit.

This might actually be underway since yesterday many DirectTV-1 (Nimiq-3) transponders were turned off on on. This might have been because they are swapping the birds around. Will have to wait and see.

Hey Ken i think your right , but everytime i try to change it , it doesn't quite change from 91 ,i'm not sure if the fact i'm from toronto has anything to do with that ..
