Nikon D60 Pre-Flash How do you turn it off?

i have a Nikon D60 and every time before i take a photo there is a little light that flashes on the front of my camera and i can't figure out how to turn it off, i have tried it in Manual settings and it still goes off.
please help.
 
If it's NOT coming from the flash itself, it's the focus assist light. You can turn this off in the menus.

See page 57 in your manual.

It's Custom Setting 9 in your Custom Settings menu.

But... See page 111 and then page 118 to learn how to turn on the "full" version of your menu settings or you will not find it.
