im getting a nikon d50 dslr soon but i noticed it has a 6.1mp sensor in it. im a beginner and this is my first dslr so would this be good enough for me?

p.s. im getting it with a 18-55mm lens and everything else i need for 225 bucks.

6.1 mega pixels is definitely acceptable, its typically just a selling point for companies. Unless you're blowing pictures up, you'll be fine. For $225 the D50 and 18-55 is a pretty good deal, just make sure it has the battery and all. You might want to get it checked out by someone to make sure nothing is wrong, but Nikon's are pretty reliable and tend to last a good while.

Man, assuming all the accessories are there and it all works fine, you're getting a sweet deal. It's almost unheard of to get even the oldest DSLRs for that price.

Megapixels? Don't worry about it. They mean jack all at this point. Anything over 5mp is fine for all but the most demanding photography jobs. Plus, the increased physical size of the DSLR sensor will blow the quality of even 13 megapixel point-and-shoot cameras out of the water.
