I've been following this for months since I first read about it. Looks like everything is finally falling into place. The movie is a re-imganing of the original classic but with one major hook: it will be done as a 3D CGI film.

Can I be the first, of many, to point out that Joe Pilato was in Day of the Dead and not Dawn.

If this basic error is an indication of the film-makers ability to get anything right then we can look forward to this disappearing without a trace like the recent live-action 3D Night of the Living Dead remake.

Really, you just wish this movie was in copyright don't you.

Yes Joe Pilato was in "Day of the Dead" but he was also in "Dawn of the Dead". He had a very small role as a cop early on in the film (The dock scene - before the major characters took off in the helicopter).

I watched the "Night of the Living Dead 3D" remake about a year ago (rented it) and it was awful. :)

Considering that eye-popping practical gore effects are part of the appeal of the Romero films, making it CGI seems ridiculous. However, this sounRAB like it could be more of a graphic novel approach.

I'm so tempted to just say that this will suck, but I'm going to hold my piece, wait to see it at least twice, and then make a considered and unbiased judgement.... that it sucks.

Seriously, what's with all these remakes?... Even Tom Savini, himself a Romero alumnus, didn't match the original, (though he did make a fine effort). I doubt if Romero himself could remake NOTLD now.... he's not the director he used to be... and I say that as a genuine fan of his work. As for NOTLD 3D... it never happened... it just didn't. And nothing anyone can say will change my mind.
