Night of the Living Dead - 1968

This once shocking film was reclassified as a 15 a while back

And just another of the poor quality public domain films shown by Pulse

It will be interesting to see which version this is - is it the US cinema cut or the International cut? Is it the re-edited version that was on a re-release not to long ago?

Who knows - all I know is yay! Zombies!

There was no different US/Int cut.

There's been the original b+w release, the 90's remake by Savini, a colourized version of the original, a '3d' re-imagining, and the 30th Anniversary edition with the extra scenes. Which I own on DVD and regret, lol.

Hang on, there's the Hal Roach 1986 colour rendition, John Russo's 1999 colour version, Anchor Bay's 1997 colour version from a second 1968 print with different editing for Italy (for some reason), Image Ten have a re-edit from 1968 they distributed to Sweden under the name Night of the Flesh Eaters & the US Patent Office holRAB 23 individual copyrights to the film (all with minor amendments) from different people because they didn't copyright it properly in 1968...man, you could get dizzy trying to keep up! :)

This version seems okay though...

How many versions of this film are there? Here's a list of some of them:

Original 1968 version. The Elite Millennium Edition is the best of the many, many DVRAB available.

Late 80s Hal Roach Studios "colorized" version with green zombies. Released many times by budget DVD labels.

Late 90s Anchor Bay colorized version with pink zombies. American VHS release. Never seen this version available on DVD.

1999 30th Anniversary Edition with egregious new scenes and a repetetive synthesised score performed on a keyboard in someone's bedroom. Anchor Bay DVD.

1999 hybrid edit. No new scenes but music from the 30th Anniversary Edition replaces the original score. This was available on its own and as an extra on the 30th Anniversary DVD.

2004 Off-Color/Fox colorized version with pinky greeny grey zombies. US DVD. Never seen a UK release of this one.

1990 remake. DVD available.

2006 3D remake. Released in 3D and 2D on US DVD. (The 2D version is usually much cheaper.) Never seen a UK release.

Have I missed any out?
