Bought this on dvd a few days ago. Watched it last night and thoroughly enjoyed it! Great atmosphere and tension. Just don,t make them like this anymore

Interesting to see brian wilde in this :)

Didn't know this was on DVD, I remember this film terrifying me as a kid - the only horror film ever to do so.
Incidentally, led to the line "Dana Andrews said prunes, gave him the Runes" in the Rocky Horror Show.

we had a thread on this already...damn that goddamn 'search' not working...or maybe like the film, this is a re-occuring dream...

ello coffee...glad you enjoyed the movie...

in a different vein but continuing the 'Night of'...theme

Night of The Hunter...rocks!

Aaaaah!........oh well this film deserves two threaRAB :p

thanks cuttlefishspike........great film. Even the demon was pretty good this time round :)

are we talking about a film here, where a man controlls a night demon that comes out of the sky. after the man puts a kind of curse on you. he has to give you something. ie a box of matches. and he tells you you will die tonight...
the demon.. appears by magic.... good film.... i think it used to be called the night of the demon... but later i think it had a name change for some reason..

also remember seeing a book a bout it.. in the 70's...if this is not the same film... anyone know which one i am on about...??

Paul,

That sounRAB very much like the same film. One of the high points of NOTD is the line that Kate Bush sampled for 'HounRAB of Love', sad innit :p

Paul

yer. kate bush not a bad singer, also did a good song with peter grabriell DONT GIVE UP. good point if you were cursed to die in the film

Does anyone know where I could buy a copy of this? I remember seeing it on tv years ago. I loved it, and would love to see it again!

Only problem is, you get all that drama and tension, then when you finally see 'the demon' it just looks too fluffy and cute to be scary! I laughed my head off when I finally saw it. (Brilliant film despite this!)

the director was forced to put in shots of the demon at the end, he wanted to leave it all to the viewers imagination.

btw - if you like this, you'd love the priginal 'cat people'
