NICOLE KIDMAN...legend?!

Personally, I am not a fan of this new breed of wishy washy presenters who tag everyone legenRAB and create comparisons like "the new britney spears" the next person to be taged a legend is Nicole Kidman.

I just read this on the imdb site, apparently our Jenni Falconer went over to (I think it was) Venice to interview Nicole and Lauren Bacall on their new film "the birth" and called Nicole Kidman a legend which didn't go down well with Lauren who went on a rant about Nicole not being a legend.

I was just wondering who's side everyone is on, is nicole Kidman really a Legend? or should people just stop the unneccessary tagging?.

there's a certain breed of presenter notorious for this type of tagging-jenni falconer and ben shepherd being prime examples! no way is nicole kidman a legend-she is an alright actress who's been getting some interesting parts, but thats all.

Possibly Lauren is a little  but by no stretch of the imagination is Nicole Kidman a legend. She is an ok actress, loved The Others and by all accounts she was amazing in The Hours but I haven't seen that yet. But to me a screen legend is some one like Audrey Hepburn.

I wouldnt class her as a legend either, although given time i think she could easily become one.

I think Lauren Bacall was a tad peed off though. Apparently they were sat together with the producer and director to talk about the film, but every question was directed at Nicole. Even Nicole got embaressed and asked them to direct some questions to the others.

I think LB got the hump :D

If Nicole Kidman is still around in her 70's and 80's and has sustained a career of awesome movies then she might become one. Stars of the 30's/40's and 50's typically did 5+ films a year, something that no movie star today does. While I think she is a good actress, she is no where in the league of someone like Bette Davis... yet....

It's not about quantity it's about quality. I agree the word "legend" is silly, but Kidman is in my opinion an excellent actress. I remember being blown away the first time I ever saw her, which was when Dead Calm was first shown on TV. I had never heard of her, and thought she was teriffic in it.

She's been in her fair share of rubbish, but even great actors appear in lousy stuff at times. I haven't seen Dogville yet, but its near the top of my list.
