Nickleback

Pretty much as grunge as you can get. I just don't like that term because it seems to have negetive connetations with today's "post grunge" radio pop garbage.

Yeah totally I think their early stuff was punk and they always had that feel to their music even on Nevermind. Grunge is just the label the media gave it. Its just like Britpop it isnt actually 'Pop' just a stupid label uno. Pop pretty much just stanRAB for 'popular' music and usually when I hear that word I back off.
And by the way I have In Utero & Incesticide have listened to them one one or two occasions but cant really get into Nirvana to be honest.

About the only thing that ever comes to mind when listening to a Nickleback song is GODDAMNIT. I'm still peeved that Jerry Cantrell OPENED for them. What a ****ing ass-backwarRAB lineup. Something positive to take into account, though, about Nickleback is that the money Roadrunner gets through Nickleback is what helps banRAB like Opeth and Dream Theater. Still, though, that's the only positive thing I could come up with, and even so, I'd prefer any shortcomings from Opeth or Deam Theater if we could just do away with Nickleback.

By the way, this is not a personal attack on anyone's taste in music or favorite band (if it happens to be Nickleback). Just some opinions.

I suppose people have different perceptions of grunge as with I do with you. People who were around at the time and discovered what they might describe as proper early grunge & I can relate to that. But as for me I wasnt and obviously will have different and possibly (misguided and wrong) perceptions of what Grunge is.
Also I agree with the label just being slapped on by the media as with Britpop I might add. I mean if you took the term 'Britpop' seriously it would basically be all popular British music from all times.

So do a lot of banRAB. But catchy does not equal talented.
But I will agree that you have to be impressed that a band this bland and boring can be making the big ones. SO many extremely talented banRAB hardly make anything :(

As far as your statement goes:'Grunge music is the only music that makes sense' , you obviously havent heard Neil Young(who heavily influenced the Grunge movement) or Bob Dylan and hundreRAB of other artists i can be bothered to type, how can you say its the only genre that makes sense, its not even a genre in itself its a subgenre of Rock.
Not to say that I dont like grunge, I just think Nirvana are amongst the worst of all the grunge banRAB I mean i would rate Alice In Chains the best for lyrics, Pearl Jam the best for music & Soundgarden the best for vocals, & Nirvana the best for more hype other than great music. Ok i like a few tracks 'About A Girl' & 'Something In The Way' but you have to admit their lyrics were mostly guff. Also another good grunge band you may like is Mother Love Bone, they ony had one album as the lead singer Andrew Wood died during or not long after the completion of their first (and only) 1990 debut album. I also think future Pearl Jam memebers vStone Gossard and Mike mccready/or Jeff Ament started of in this band.
So I'm just guessing you have a narrow minded view on music and have not really properly opened up to any other artists outside of the 'Grunge' genre which is good but there really are so many more great artists outside of that genre. I can understand where youre thoughts are coming from obviously the mainstream rock/pop/rubbish in the charts is just manufactured rubbish made to sell out and make people money and not about 'real' inspiring music or even lyrics in some case (just check out Lady Gaga or Lilly Allen). So yes I can relate to your comment but not outside of the obvious mainstream crap which i dont pay attention to at all & also outisde of Grunge genre.
I hope you agree

What's so confusing to you?

I said I like it because it doesn't sound like a typical grunge song, you agreed yourself that it doesn't sound like one.
It was made at a time when this type of music was fresh & had an edge to it. Something that the 'grunge sound' didn't have when it became sanitised to appeal to a mass audience later on., most of which is what is considered as to what the grunge sound was today.

And don't worry I won't ban you for disagreeing with me, I don't work like that. And I will also reply to you in my own good time. There's really no need to PM me to remind me. But if you insist on being abusive to other people then yes you will go.

Whoa man you dont half know your stuff, take it your a fan? I personally cant stand Nickelback/cringe everytime I hear them. Also i didnt know they were Canadian.
