Nickleback

I suppose they did in terms of popularity but in terms of musical ability, lyrical abilities they have next to none compared to the grunge banRAB. Also Noel Gallagher is the most overrated 'guitarist' of all time. Just a happy-go lucky strummer.
Also that doesnt sound like 'Grunge' music to me, not a bad song though.

You could consider Black Sabbath popular, mainly because of how Ozzy and his retarded family blew up MTV like a fat guy blows up a bowling alley ****ter. But the thing about Sabbath was that they wrote their own songs, they didn't write them to a particular formula, all of their songs sound different, and they were figureheaRAB of a new movement in music, and that's why they became popular in their day.

Miles is only popular in certain circles. Jazz isn't what it was 50-60 years ago. Don't lump Miles in with the likes of Nickelback.

Go on tell me what 'real' grunge music is then professor

"Arguing on the internet is like the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded."

As much of an idiot you are that is ****ing hilarious lol

Well if he is I have already mentioned Mother Love Bone and have plenty of Mudhoney.
But, IMO, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains & Soundgarden all rank higher than Mudhoney & Mother Love Bone.
Ive also just discovered another band recentley that Andrew Wood was in (it was released 5 years after his death) band called Malfunkshen 'Return To Olympus'. Plus it is brilliant.

I think perhaps Nickleback is just a bunch of guys who genuinely enjoy making music and putting on shows. They got into for the fun, stayed for the cash. I have a severe dislike of the music they make but I guess you can't hate the guys.

haha. Well at least Creed split up I think? And don't ask me why I know this but the guitarist Mark Tremonte went on to start a group called, get this, Altarbridge.
I didn't need to look that up... Me and a friend just went through an immature phase of inventing 'Stapp-isms', saying everything in the manner of Creed singer Scott Stapp. It was funny at the time, and these things linger amongst the cobwebs of the brain... which is why i was only half-joking when I said 'Weathered' was actually a good album :p: It's the ultimate tongue-planted-firmly-in-cheek Christian power-grunge experience. You have to admire their business plan

THey were the 'biggest act' in grunge but not necessarily the best. 9/10 I always find that the supposed 'best' artist or 'best' album never really rings true. I believe that most of it is just hype but of course im biased because I aint really that keen on Nirvana. I like a couple of tracks 'About A Girl' & 'Something In The Way'.

Yeah I just wish I hadnt ever been into them but I suppose they were the first band I really got into /got all the albums kinda thing uno. & Btw I just sent you a very long Private message lol.

We know you didn't know any better, Wild Man.

And actually, quite a few sounRAB can be produced from a frying pan. You just have to know where to hit it.
Same applies to your mom.

You need to listen to In Utero and Incesticide. I've always said they were more of a punk band than a grunge band, but if you are going to call them "grunge" then atleast catagorize which albums of theirs were grunge albums. Namely Bleach and a couple of tracks on Nevermind... without comparing them to other big "grunge" acts of the time like Pearl Jam or Alice in Chains, as I wouldn't consider them to nessiscarily be grunge either. In my mind, the true grunge movement never really broke into the mainstream.

But hey I'm just some random 40 year old guy on the internet.. I could be wrong :)

Edit: And don't get me wrong I like all of the aformentioned banRAB.

No, never even heard a song beyond that Mission Impossible one and that sucked :P

Also I really don't see a connection (aka please explain..)

NICKLEBACK! Oh dear I cant express how much I despise and hate this pathetic bunch of ****ing sell outs. Their music is extremely bland and boring, people have this preconceived (or at least im guessing they havent heard them yet) idea that they are a Hard Rock band?, I mean how the **** is Nickleback hard rock in comparison to the likes of Black Sabbath for instance, or even to the likes of Whitesnake/Deep Purple. I really cant get my head around why so many people like them, theyre music is nothing short of uninspiring rubbish.

We're not lumping, we're talking about popularity. Black Sabbath is popular for being a creator of Metal and making good music. Miles makes good music also. They are both popular. Radiohead is also popular, I'm in the states and I know that. You're changing subjects and not making very much sense.
