Nickleback

I dont really like nickelback, but they do have a few catchy songs, Chad Kruger used to live 10 minutes down the street from where I used to live, In highschool I would drive past his house everyday on my was to school, I would see him every once in a while driving around town in a Ferrari or a Ford GT or something, his gf used to shop at my aunts clothing store in town and she said that his gf, some young birabo type chick, would come in and drop like $10 000 on a couple things no problem, lol, like I said Im not really a fan of the guy but I gotta give him credit for making it this far.

I wouldn't say he has the worst musical taste but It is pretty ****. Dont worry he'll discover real music when he 'grows up'.

I used to be into Oasis a lot when I was younger but since I discovered Neil Young and the likes I left them behind ages ago. The thing about Oasis is that they have no creativity/diversity to their music and they basically bore the arse of me with every duplicate album they come out with. I really dont understand why they still get so much regonition as to me they are nothing special at all vocal wise or music wise just really quite bland. Also this talk of Noel Gallagher supposedly being a 'genius''?? I mean his lyrics dont even make sense + he can hardly play, his best solo is 'Live Forever' which even my gran could probably play. Also I hate how the slag everyone off obviously just to get publicity and press because their music is too **** & the reasons they come out with when they slag people off are totally offtopic such as 'hes a knob' or 'he looks like this...'.
I recentley saw an interview where he had slagged off Bloc Party(whom I aint too keen on either) and called them a 'band of university challenge' & 'indie ****' or something which is pretty much irrelevant & more based on his personal opinion (IMO).
“I think Oasis are the most overrated and pernicious band of all time. They had a totally negative and dangerous impact upon the state of modern music.
“They have made stupidity hip. They claim to be inspired by The Beatles but, and this so saddens me, they have failed to grasp that The Beatles were about constant change and evolution. Oasis are repetitive Luddites.”
- Kele Okereke (Bloc Party).
Asked about the University Challenge remark, Okereke continued to Uncut Magazine: "Well, It’s quite funny. It probably would have been a lot more funny had he not used exactly the same worRAB to describe Travis a couple of years ago.
"Having said that, it’s probably a very sad indication of the state of his mind. Why is it bad to better yourself? It’s all about the weird way in which this country chooses to view the working classes.
"It is really daft to reinforce the idea that there is something cool about being durab. The idea that your arabitions shouldn’t extend beyond getting pissed and watching the football really irks me.
"It’s this idea that to be authentically working class you need to be untainted by the airy-fairy ephemera of education. And it seems to be pretty unique to this country."
I couldnt agree more. especially these parts "They had a totally negative and dangerous impact upon the state of modern music" & "They have made stupidity hip"
As for your comparison you are comparing two totally different banRAB (Mudhoney & Oasis) from two totally different genres, both songs from two totally different decades/perioRAB in music. I havent heard the 'Touch Me I'm Sick' song but I think your 'comparison' is uncomparable (IMO).

Also dont get me wrong I will admit Oasis was the reason i picked up a guitar in the first place & Britpop was the first kinda music I really got into.
I still like a lot of banRAB from that period and would rate Cast in particular as a long forgotten gem of the 90s. I loved everthing they did even the 'Beetroot' album sheerly because of the experimentation involved. Also Kula Shaker are a great/forgotten band. Pulp are very good and Jarvis ****er is a very clever/witty lyricist.
Anyway as usual if you agree/disagree with anything I have posted here.....

I am currently working on a Nickleback parody song and video, due to the fact that they of course suck. It is funny so far and the final product should be a hoot.

Some will say, "Hey, lay off Nickleback! There just a couple of guys play'n music and doing what they love."

Well, our movement will not stop until Nickleback stops playing. This is the civil rights movement of people with musical taste. Do not defend that band. They do not defend the sanctity of music.

I didn't say it was rubbish I said most of it was rubbish.

I bought the albums I was around the time it happened i'm allowed to have an opinion.

in all honesty i don't hate Nickelback, but yeah their music has been pretty stagnant for like ever. plus their songs seem so ****ing processed to me.

but damn it if they don't have staying power.

didn't you hear nickelback are so uncool they're cool so get with it.
Also 'weathered' by Creed is actually a good album.

what is it with the American suburban rock-stereotype audience and OTT grunty vocals? Is it Eddie Vedder's fault? I don't like him

First of all, when did this turn into a Metallica debate at all? It didn't, so stop trying to make it one.
Secondly, contrary to your belief, it is I who probably knows more about Metallica than you do, Mr. Two-Year Cover Band.
I bet you were one of those kiRAB who stood out in the street and trashed all your Metallica albums when the Napster thing came up.
Honestly, what the hell does anything Metallica has EVER done, tie in with me saying bashing a band into the ground, (in this case, Nickelback), is like beating a dead horse?

Do you think that one of the guys in Nickelback is actually really cool and knows they sucks and is like **** it, I'm getting laid and paid and just riding this gravy train to the end?

Thats a pretty impressive thing to say (if its true) they are played so much on radio and get so much exposure and with stupid mums and daRAB thinkin theyre 'cool' and down with it having it as their ringtones. I hate it with a vengeance but end up hearing it somewhere+ the fact my brother likes them.
