Nexus One Broken Device?

Hi there,
I got a Nexus One running on CM 5.0.8 (Latest) and every time I plug and mount my device to the PC it comes up with the following message before autoplay shows up:

-
-Do you want to scan and fix NEXUS ONE (F?
-
-There might be a problem with some files on this device or disk. This can happen if you remove the device or disk before all files have been written to it.
-

It gives the options to scan and fix or continue without. I have a good guess that I just unplugged it while syncing a file, BUT is there any way I can get rid of this? Thanks.

NOTES:
-I also tried out FOYO and still same problem after I flashed it
-Am on Windows 7
-When I tried to 'scan and fix' either the phone would unmount right away or my computer would freeze up and force restart.

Thanks guys !

it's just what happens when you plug into windows 7

i get the same, and so do my friends.

unless we all have bad luck and have crappy sd cards, which i doubt.

Put your sd card in a card reader and scan it on your desktop and that should fix your problem. It was unplugged without unmounting the sd card. I had the same problem once.

Yep - what ggrant said. When saving to a FAT32 filesystem (like on your SD card) there is a flag that indicates if all data has been committed to the disk or not. If I remember correctly it's called the dirty flag. This flag is set when you properly unmount a drive. In Windows you do this by finding the Safely Remove Hardware icon in your tray next to the clock, and when you click it there should be an option to eject or remove your SD card drive. You should do this every time before unplugging any removable drive (USB flash drive, USB hard drive, card readers, etc).

If you don't "Safely Remove Hardware", then when you next connect it Windows will detect that the drive wasn't properly unmounted last time, and will suggest you scan the drive for errors.

To fix it, simply let Windows scan the drive and fix any errors it finds, and in future always remember to Safely Remove it, otherwise one day you'll find all your files are gone.
