Nextel tower locations

Thanks, MartyRIP, for the link. Great document. :) Hey, Nexteler, you still out there? Do you have any info for me that you could share? Thanks, everyone.

Just got off the phone with Nextel after being on for quite a while. I first modified one of my services, then thought I'd ask about existing and new tower locations. Started with Customer Care, then transferred to Tech Support, then finally to Tele-Sales, and struck out every time. The common response here is that no one even has that information. One person was able to tell me that there were some new towers scheduled to come online within 90 days, and mentioned a city or two, but could not confirm locations. Bottom line is, unless I just got incompetent people, it is FALSE to say that you can call Nextel and get them to tell you where the towers are, whether you mean existing ones, or new ones planned for the near future. Can anyone prove me wrong?

The list goes first by state, then by county, so if you live in New York, keep scrolling until you get to New York, then you have to look for your county. Both are in alphabetical order. I found where I used to live, Nassau County. Turns out there is a tower like a few blocks from where I used to live. LOL

You can go into the TRACE menu (type #,*, MENU, RIGHT ARRROW KEY fast) then go down to the GPS menu, click OK. Under the GPS menu click on the "LOCATION" sreen, and under that screen you will see C LAT, and C LON, that is the location of the Netel site you phone is connect to. The you can just go to Mapquest, type in the info, and get the map to your site.

You are not going to get nyone from Nextel to give out the locations of towers unless you know an engineer or a field tech that is willing to give up tthat info. That list that your looking at is not all true, That is a list of leases and that nextel has the option of doing work there. They might have put up a site there or still have the option of doing so.
