yeah...it's one of the backbones for the system...don't see y it would change...the betas still use it so i would assume so but i do know that many features on those betas do not work because the phone hasn't launched.

anticipate net alerts being there so you can use tekniwap

well... maybe its a little late, but the i860s already out.

its pretty nice, i guess.

im wondering when the much speculated i930 is coming out.
my contract with tmobile ( the worst service in the ****in free world ) is over in december, and im hoping the 930 will be out by then, or else ill just get stuck getting a 2 year contract for the i860, which i woudnt mind, but i kinda like the idea of a phone thats also a PDA, and from looking at the specs, the battery life should be better too.

930 will be out january or feb...not any earlier. battery should be about the same as the 860 as they use the same battery.

I have a guy trying to sell me a i 930 for cheap but i dont know if i should ?he said he will send the phone cod or paypal!
But i dont know if it has software that will expire or what!nextel 611 told me that there isn't a i930 yet that they havent even made one yet!B/S!
But he said he will sell me his last i930 with my i90 and i1000 trade in for $290 or the i860 for $190
what do yall recomend i do???
THANKS PeAcE uNo

... it isn't released yet, and this guy doesn't exactly sound like he's registered with the better bussiness bureau, and by the way if he's got such top technology why would he even bother messing with an i1000? That's like taking a Gremlin as a trade in on a brand new Corvette.

There are i930's out there, but most of them (if not all) are beta phones that will expire and stop working. You might get lucky, but probably not.

As far as the capabilities go, the blackberry 7510 is as close as you'll get for the moment, but it's bulky. The 7520 (same as 7510 but with GPS and bluetooth) is coming soon (fingers crossed), i930 probably not until sometime next year

I tried to pump some info out of the guy at the NEXTel store yesterday (Dec. 4, 2004) and to no avail - he was tight lipped.

About the only thing he said is to watch for the i930 early in 2005.

This is unfortunate news - I was hoping to get one for Christmas!

I hope this tidbit of info helps you.

Eric

I was paying my bill on the 3rd yeah i know late but i have been busy. I asked the guy in billing at nextel phone support he was saying around Jan 1st. So who knows.

I'm starting to think they are holding off just to add to the hype and sales of the phone.
