Next N1 update please

has anybody heard anything about when the next NexusOne update will be?
i am getting pretty sick of the ****ty 1st update that loaded my phone with annoying bugs and random performance lag.
 
Ya man, my brother and I both have N1s and we have both seen random performance hickups and annoying little bugs like the dots at the bottom of the homescreen that indicate which homescreen you are on never being accurate anymore when coming out of an application.
 
Ya man i really dont want to root.
I know I could overclock my CPU that way and Cyanogen is solid, but I'm not into voiding my warranty with such an expensive phone. Guess I'm a nancyboy that way.
 
It doesn't need to be over clocked, a 1ghz processor is plenty fast. I had no problems with my N1 before I rooted it, but rooting is just the way to go. You have admin control over your phone and can do so much more with it. I rooted both of my G1's almost immediatley but waited for one month on the N1 just to make sure there wasn't anything wrong with it. I wouldn't call you a nancyboy all I would say is different strokes for different folks. If you ever decide to root your phone you will find unlimited help here at the A/C.
 
ya, i rooted my old G1 and was running Cyanogen for a while, but I just wish that Google would build a bit more of a stable ROM. at 1ghz and for the phone being called a "super phone," these little annoying problems shouldn't be happening.

thanks for the recommendation though. a little advice is always appreciated.
 
I've got my N1 rooted, but before I did, I had no issues with the stock firmware. I'm actually thinking about loading the stock rom on it just to compare it with the latest Cyanogen rom, but I never had any of the problems you mentioned. Maybe the device needs to be replaced?
 
Are those different builds or prerelease builds?
Do you know which is most stable and/or which is newest?
Do you have a link?
