News Flash: Manny Pacquiao officially signs the contract, but not Mayweather?...

...Any thoughts? About 30 minutes or so ago, ESPN reported this.

Isnt it weird that Pacquiao signs the contract first before Floyd, yet the hype is Floyd agreed for the fight but it is unofficial nor is credible since he didnt sign anything so he can easily back off from the deal without penalty.

Manny Pacquaio has officially signed the contract to fight Mayweather at March 13, 2010. Both will wear 8 oz gloves as typical for a welterweight bout. The split is officially proposed at 50-50 which is fair. Of course I disagree with Roach when he said 60-40 and Mayweather 65-35. 50-50 is fair in my opinion!

However, it is actually Floyd Mayweather who hasnt signed the contract. I know this fight will happen, I just hope Mayweather stops his claims, if true, about making remarks of pushing Pacquiao to fight at 154?

No location has been agreed upon yet. Las Vegas, Dallas, and New Orleans are the front runners in order.

Agreeing to the fight and signing it are two different things. Manny did both, he signed and agreed, Mayweather only agreed but has yet to sign. :-)
Thanks Jay!

My thoughts is Mayweather is a pu$$y.

He will be humilitaed by getting knocked out by a smaller man.

im glad to see manny actually has a pair
seriously though mayweather may not have signed the dotted line but he was the first to be willing to be humble, put his ego aside, and put the ball in pacs court

Im excited for this fight! It will be very close. I am actually nervous. The fight is so close that I dont think I will make a bet!

go Manny!,well as long as they both agreed then the fight is going to happen,Mayweather just have to sign,i heard Bob Arum(Mayweathers handler) is going to Phils. so theyre still having negotiations.

Wow, obviously you don't know anything about contract negotiations.

Arum will meet with Golden Boy Promotions on Sunday to present the contract. They will discuss the final terms of the contract, then it will be signed. There is allot more to contracts then the things you mentioned. There are allot of details that must be reviewed before any contract is signed.

That is why contracts take time. It is always a bad idea to sign a contract immediately. However, if you disagree and feel that all contracts must be immediately signed...I have a contract to sell you some swamp land Florida that you must sign immediately!

floyd fans have nothing more to say... i don't believe any of their rants anymore.

after floyd's stunts in this negotiations, i don't see how anyone who prides themselves as being "boxing fans" not get offended.

floyd's lame moves are just too hilarious. he seems to think that everyone is an idiot and will pay for ppv anyway (which is most probably true).

but come on, telling everyone that pacquiao is a ducker because floyd "agreed" to fight was desperate. it only fools anyone who doesn't know what a signed agreement is (that it actually needs a handwritten signature). saying one "agrees" to something doesn't say anything-- it has no legal consequences. you don't have to be a lawyer to understand this.

by signing the contract, pacquiao commits legally to the fight-- floyd still has the option "to duck" (because floyd didn't sign the contract yet).

who has the possibility to duck?-- yes, it's floyd because he is not legally bound to fight pacquiao until he takes a pen and writes his signature on the contract (1+1 is really, really 2).
