Newest Version Of Cdma Workshop: To Buy Or Not To Buy

I just wanted yalls opinion: Is buying the newest version of cdma workshop worth it?
My primary concern is configuring internet and pic messaging on the various phones I get in. Honestly I have a low success rate:
So far I have only been able to full flash successfully these phones:
Samsung a950, Palm Treos (minus pic messaging), HTC 6700, Moto Q, LG vx8100 (minus pic messaging), and of course the motorolas with monster files.
As far as lots of others I have not been able to pull it off for some reason. I follow lots of threaRAB and search like crazy but progress is slow.
I have heard that CDMA workshop has an EVDO tab now. Those of you who have it, have you found it instrumental is full flashing?
Love to hear yalls thoughts before I buy it.
Thanks

it has actually made me lazy.... lol

I love the new version of cdma workshop... however it probably will not help you with your "full flashes". It is a great too, however. It puts what used to be a nuraber of programs into one.

cdma workshop is not for full flashing, but it is a invaluable tool in getting spc's and unlock codes off phones, and putting prls onto phones.. also i find this program is great for getting some blackberries unlocked and prls dropped.

we have been using it for almost a year now, and i will always have a copy or 2 avail when needed. as far as partial flashes, this program rocks. :buddies:

Thanks very much for yalls input. SPC's and PRL flashing hasnt been much of a problem for me.
I am getting prety frustrated- it seems like every different phone has different kinks in the system. Often their will be LG's and Samsungs with almost the exact same menu system and options, and I input all the same settings, and for no reason that I know of it doesnt work. Case in point:
Samsung A950, easy as pie to configure px and web, but the A970-which has same exact options and menu's- It wont surf. I was even able to enable the hidden menu with an a970 dll I found, but still no dice
The LG AX490 from Alltel- I swear everything you would need do get wap going is in the ax490 programming menu: wap setting, data setting, MIP setting, MMS setting, but still no dice. And yet the VX8100 sets up fine.
I know I am whining like a little #^%. But there seems to be no reason to it: I follow tutorials and still often no dice.
So, boo hoo, boo hoo. Can anyone guess as to what I am doing wrong? I have every flashing program people generally use for this stuff.
Thanks,....sniffle sniffle.

Its makes it easy for everyday "flashing", and faster if you programm phones constantly. Also to recover certain phones Q esn repairs, meid repairs etc.
As to get full funcionalities no, wont help as much.
Every phone model its every unique, even though the "menus" are similar and the are similiarities different phone different techniques i guess you just gotta find a way of adapting the same concept.

CDMA workshop can read/write NV Items, which are the building-blocks of CDMA phones. This feature is mostly useful for R&D, and is probably the coolest feature, as far as hacking phones goes...

I don't think anyone would argue with the fact that this program pays for itself quite quickly, in one way or another... It might not be needed, but it certainly would not be money wasted.

thenoblemobile: go ahead and pm me. I will help you with some of the full flashes. There is a sticky on here that is great for that purpose. It covers a lot of the Samsungs as well as the LG. Keep in mind that on a Samsung and LG it is known as a bin file and not a monster like the motorola. Search around for the Samsung phone tools, get the dll for the phone model (the dll is what communicates between the software and the phone), and finally the bin from the carrier you wish to flash to. For example: the Alltel Samsung R500 full flashed to Cricket.

Download the Samsung PST
Get the cricket DLL for the phone
Finally get the bin for cricket.
Put the phone in Emergency mode and also select emergency mode in the bin download as well. This takes about a minute to do.

I guess i forgot all bout this thread.
Thanks Smitty!
Since I posted this thread thankfully i learned the difference between monsters and bins!
I came back to say: the new cdma worskhop is THE BOrab! Im saving so much time, i think im going to the beach..

I must agree the newest workshop makes everything so much quicker less headaches and out of all the software out there is probably the one that will make you most bucks

the newest version but honestly getting the whole power pack + advance box is actually really outdated cables and software you probably already have unless your extremely lazy and dont like to serch I bought the whole set and the only thing I use workshop but thats my 2 cents

I am yet to repair an ***. I am thinking about getting the whole package to repair and provision cell phones. I have purchased the data pilot universal Pro with cables will those cables be the same cables included?
and will the box work on changing moto Qs ***?
