Newbie question.... 1098

I am the owner of a 2005 CBR1000RR and am currently lookng at buying a 1098. I am really digging the yellow 1098, but am unsure of what years this was made? Was it just 07' or 08'? Please let me know. Thanks in advance...

Well, maybe it's because I live in Iowa, that i've never seen a yellow one... All there is around here is Red ones, and the ocasional whte 848. Was the yellow a standard color, or was it a special addition color?

I'm torn as I want a Red one, just as I think Ducati, I thnk the Ferarri of bikes and I think Red, but the wife would prefer something dfferent, and she says yellow.

I'm not one to argue, as the 1000RR was my christmas present from the wife. Maybe I'll have to settle for a yellow one if she has her way... Oh Darn.... lol

Get the 1098 and never look back. Over the past decade I have had all the jap liter bikes and recently switched to Ducati (1198s). I have absolutely no regrets at all. Don't get me wrong though, they are all great bikes, my preferences and taste have just changed. One thing I know now, I will never go back!

No the yellow was not a special edition, it was a standard color. I think they just made more in red than yellow. Also, as some guys on this forum have already pointed out, the red one is faster. LOL! On a serious not, which ever color you decide to get, it's an awesome bike.

I had a yellow one....and it was all worth it until I crashed it....

Having said this....I went for the red one this time though....

As others have said...you cannot go wrong either way....

Man, This already sounds like my old forum 1000RR.net. This could be a great place. Thanks for the welcome...Look forward to learning alot.

This is actually a myth created by the guys with the red bikes to make themselves feel better...everybody knows that the a yellow 1098 will always be faster than a red one....now....for the 848 that is a whole different matter....that's why I bought a red one...

Nah bro! it's not a myth. I think there is scientific evidence to back up this fact, something about the pigments used in the RED paint supposed to make the bike go faster!
