Hello - been away from motorcycles for quite some time - diverged to rally (still active) www.BlissRally.com

But now looking to go back to 2-wheeled diversions as it is something I can do with my wife.

Over the years I've learned that I enjoy machines with soul - used to ride a 1985 Ninja 900, had 2 of them. My wife never really graduated beyond a 450 (Kawasaki)...so I'm interested in buying a couple of Ducati's...

Lets see if we can get some opinions here:
1. Riding style is going to be agressive in the twisties, but definitely no hot dogging or drag racing (we'll leave that to the squids, eh?) - this counts for her as well .

2. Touring capable, 1 long trip per year, several weekend trips in New England as well.

3. Reliable - my understanding is that the Duc's have become fairly reliable - but starting in what years? Which models?

4. Cost - not rolling in the dough - looking for the best value...

Thanks,

Vittorio -

...Hello Sir, A Multistrada or a Sport Classic may fit for what you want out of a ducati,do your homework before deciding, good luck amigo.

Thanks Jet057...

I'm certainly tending towards the ST2/3/4 for me.

Had considered the multi-strada for my wife - we may go look at one tomorrow just to see how it fits (the other option is Triumph for her). Originally we had fitted her on a Monster, my concern there is the lact of a significant front fairing and her petite frame. Think it will get very tiring on the highway getting buffeted around.

I'm giving myself plenty of time to get educated, purchase wont happen until spring or fall of next year. Sometimes, you just don't know what the right questions to ask are...
