Hey Stackers,
On Monday i will be purchasing my first blackberry 7290 for a one year contract.. However one store has offered me a 7290 for 90 bucks. while a tmobile store wants me to pay 170. Is it possible to purchase a bb for 90 bucks and then take it to the store (tomobile) to activate?

Thanks for infor celebritybb, however i'm only sticking with tmobile at the moment

Thank you for the welcomes, dfc420 and cp6169 ps.. congrats on your country winning the world cup

Thanks for responding i think i might just stick with the 7290, since i'm only using it for a yr.

~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~welcome to the stacks, David. I bought my 8700g on eBay, then had t-mobile activate it with a mere costomer svc phone call. I'm a BB Addict, to be sure. Most companies will activate the device as long as it is set up for their company. I bought a T-Mobile-ready device and the transition from the 7105 to the 8700g was painless.

Thanks for the suggestions. But i'm only 17 years old and i'm working with my budject which is from a summer job. I already have a voice phone (sprint) i just think they charge to much for a data plan.. i will be stickin to a bb 7290, until sprint release's a 87xx.
Thanks once again.

The 7290 is a solid device and has not had many issues. We have about 500 deployed in our environment and we have had them run over, dropped in water and dropped in toilets and they still work. It will be a great first choice. If you have the money to spend on the 8700 you will have the ability to download really cool themes that are post by these people here on rabroad. They have posted some amazing themes.
