New type of videotones, great ones

With the permision of the person who wrote this in another forum, I will ask you guys this:

"Any idea as to how to create a video ringtone like "it wasn't me" which is attached alongwith? I got this videotone from internet and a peculiar feature that's great in this ringtone is that it does not require additional software and shows up directly in profile... I've tried many softwares like videotone, psiloc vision but all are not as good as this videotone... I tried to disasssemble this tone using unmakesis and found out that it conatins a XRT engine to playback XRT video and audio files..

The .XRT audio file is simple audio (.wav or .amr) and can be replaced very easily in the /sounds/digital folder... (if i place any other sound with the name itwasntme.xrt in the above folder then audio gets replaced but it shows the same video)

the .XRT video file placed in /system/data/xrt is a big question... I've tried using many formats like .avi, .3gp, .mp4, .3g2 etc. to replace this file but the video simply doesn't show up if it is replaced... (i.e. if I put another video with the same name i.e. itwasntme.xrt)

Can anyone help me with creation of such videotones?"


What do you think ...? Any1 knows about this type of videotones?

I tried searching for google, yahoo, and hofo with 0 results for Mayakama Watchtone Studio or even Mayakama Studio. In a diff language?
 
Unfortunately it's NOT Watchtone. I know whatchtone for a long time now, and it needs some application installed on the phone aswell, not only the videotone that you create. The one I attached to my first message is a simple sis that contains the player inside it already. U install the sis and u find the videotone in the list of all the other ringtones. U dont get to do any setting, or to start any other app on the phone. I wish it was the watchtone studio, but it isnt.
 
Wait a minute... am I reading this correctly, this .sis file you've attached installs a video ringtone on the phone that plays without any additional software?!?

How in the world is this possible!? Has anyone installed this and tried it? No viruses or anything?
 
I installed the file, and I do not see any additional ringtones whatsoever.

It installed a app/XRT/daemon.exe and data/XRT/itwasntme.xrt but neither do anything.

I have serious questions about this file and its claims. Might be simply not compatible with N90's, or could be malware of somekind. I've never heard of anything that could play video tones without some kind of support software, but I dont know.

If anyone has success with this file, please post results here. I will be watching this thread.
 
i got one of these working on my 6681 about 2 months back, the same one with the shaggy it wasnt me but i still dont know how to make them, will check the source i got them from though
 
No man, dont worry, it's not malware or any kind of virus. I found it on another forum and installed it on my N70. It works great, no lag, no delay, and you can also aassign it to a contact. Its strange that u cant find it on your list when you choose the ringtone. And YES, I couldnt believe it either, but it has the player built in.!
 
What exactly is the tone name called? Where did you see it? I can't see anything new in the gallery/tracks or listed as valid ringtones in the profile section.

Waldog said it didn't work on his N70, and I'm not even going to try on my wife's... I couldn't get it to work on my N90
 
Well i got it working on my N70, so maybe its not compatible with N90, who knows?! I find it in the profiles--- ringtone selection , as " itwasntme.xrt" , and a small part of Shaggy's song , with video. If u use Unmakesis, as I have 1 hour ago, you will se exactly what it contains and where it installs each file. Basically it installs a format recognizer for XRT files, and the files themselves. Dont worry it wont break your wife's N70, at most she wont see it either. But I told you, it workes on my N70, I have assigned it to my girlfriend's number it sounds pretty clear (as the sound file is .amr I guess) and the video is clear, no frames, smooth , absolutely no lag. It's a shame that people that (for sure) tried it dont write their opinion. And as I wrote in some other forum, my service provider (Connex-Vodafone) has a section on it's portal that contains videotones of this kind. So go ahead and try it on the N70, as it wont damage anything.

these videoringtones (.xrt ) are working on almost all S60 Nokia mobiles. I tired with Nokia-3650,6600,6630,N-Gage.

Yes, it is not required to install videotone, watchtone, pision players into the S60 mobiles. Without using these players we can set these (.xrt) tones to contact list.

Can you please let me know
1. What is this xrt ? is it another ringtone format or some kind of engine ?
2. How can we create a .xrt videoringtones using 3gp,mp4,etc ?
3. .xrt files are huge in size, is this ringtones are conatining the application as part of the .sis ?

Does anyone know what format the xrt audio and video file is in? I am trying to create my only videtones and would appreciate any help ya'll could provide. Thanks in advance.
 
I think the "video" isn't video at all, but an animated image like .gif or .png? Could somebody who know how test? It could be some newer format also, but this would seem to me logical because you can receive animated mms too with audio. Maybe this .xrt is somehow exploiting those features?
