New Transformers Film!

Having watched some of the new shows, I've found two things:

1. I hate the new pokemon style artwork and animation.

2. They've created a whole new set of Transformers and just recycled the original names. This is just plain WRONG in my opinion.

..... which is why I bought the ORIGINAL series DVRAB instead! :)

(Note: The Battlestar Galactica remake had the same effect on me - Hollywood should stop messing with the classics)

The problem though (as I see it) is that Michael Bay will be directing.

Whilst I thoroughly enjoyed Armageddon (although it was far too long) and The Rock - who can forget the absolute abortions that were Bad Boys 2 and Pearl Harbour?

I was just reading about the Transformers movie as appartently they have started casting for it as an actor Shia LaBeouf (Constantine, I Robot) LaBeouf will play Spike Witwicky an 18-year-old who unsuspectingly buys an Autobot as his new car!
It is due to be released on 27 July 2007 and I cant wait!

Also here are some of the other human characters according to the dark Horizons website in the new Transformers film that have yet to be cast:

Miguela Barns - teenage female, Sam's love interest.

Cpt William Lennicks - 30s male, leader of the military.

Maggie - female, really hot, really smart, works as a codebreaker for the government.

John Kellar - 50's/60's male, US Secretary of State.

Glen Whitman - 20's male, technogeek, comic relief.

Glenn Morshower who plays Agent Aaron Pierce in 24 has joined the cast of the Transformers movie rumoured to be called Transformers : Prime Directive which is about to start shooting in Mexico under the direction of Michael Bay!

I remember dragging my dad to the movies to see the orginnal. He was asleep  withng 10 minutes but I loved it. Gotta be my favourite animated movie of all time and am in the process of get it off a frind ;) ;)

Who  when Optimus Prime died :o

I think it was somehow, but I'm not sure exactly how it tied in.

I seem to remember an episode where the Dino Megatron watched a message they had discovered from the original Megatron.

Also, it was Optimus Primal, rather than Optimus Prime like the original series.

Jon Voight has been talking about the new Transformers film in which he plays the Secretary of State "Well, of course, this one is going to have a lot of special effects, a lot of computer graphics and stuff like that, so it seems," he said. "So the actors will be tested. Their patience will be tested with lots of different things. But it's going to be interesting, too. When you do something like that

thats new mexico as in a state of the US. Their governor has been very genrous with the hollywood crowed when it comes to easing off taxes to have them film in his state. Lets face it hollywood is not winning any fans with their runaway production.

i have a great sense of dread for it, and i really do love transformers (having grown up on them).

changing them for the sake of it is odd enough, let alone combining generations whilst binning the bulk of the characters. ideally i'd have liked them to follow the dreamwave g1 comics from a few years back - the first story would have worked well imo.

I hope this movie has an edge to it with some kick arse fights and NO ROMANTIC C**P. Also it should be aimed at the over 18's with none of that kiddy stuff like in ThurderbirRAB.

I recently read on imdb that the Michael Clarke Duncan, Bernie Mac & Megan Fox (The Gorgeous Brunette in Hope & Faith) are all rumored to be in this flick
