I am new to meditation. Right now I know a friend who meditates and he told me I need to start out with the breathing technique. He says I need to focus only on the breath and don't think of anything at all. So far it is helping me allot. I've been more calmer and happier, etc. Is there other techniques I should be working on? Or is the breathing technique good for beginners? Also will calming/relaxing music help me focus and concentrate on my breathing? I would be appreciated if anyone could help me. Thanks. And one other thing. Is there another technique for beginners that would help me keep calm or is breathing technique the good one to use for now?
