First I am a 32 year old male, I do work in Law Enforcement which makes me stand up straighter than usual and I do alot of walking. Ok for years I have had some sort of back problem (stemming from my time in the Military) I would say about 2 years ago, maybe 1 and a half that I started getting a burning ache in my lower right back. Sometimes it comes on due to stress other times when Im bloated or cough constipated or after I eat which Im not 100% that its from the food or the way I am standing/sitting.

Sometimes it doesnt show up at all for a week or so or a month but poof then its back again. Its not really a sharp pain its mostly feels like a burn like you would get if you do crunches just not as harsh. I have been to the doctor for an ultra sound for my kidneys gall bladder and they found nothing. I have talked to my doc numerous times and he just basically prescribes muscle relaxers..(bleh) I do not get nauseated after meals or any weight loss whatsoever (just worried about pancreatic cancer after reading some of the other websites. No history of that disease in my family.) I do find that sometimes when I am consitpated that once I am able to go..that the burning ache feels a little better.

Again any help or advice will be much appreciated. I did go to a chiropracter and he stated that my muscles in that area are tighter than the rest of my back, I guess I am just at the end of my rope with this. I am thinking of getting a CT scan but do not want to jump the gun if its just a small thing. Ill openly admit that I abused the hell out of my back now days I try not to.

Anyways thanks again.

A CT scan of your lurabar spine or a MRI probably would be beneficial if it's that bothersome to you. It could be muscular if you could or are able to pinpoint something that you use (or wear as I know how those bullet proof things fit if U gotta wear one) it could be something like that as thats one heck of a uniform you gotta wear. It could also be a small disc problem thats how mine started out i'd get the little hot burning area in my spine, or some crunchy feeling like sand in there, about a year after that they found a herniated disc in my spine. It's worth a test if your insurance is going to cover it anyway, no jumping, it's you back and bugging you! Take care of you!! There's only one!

Yea I have to pay a 200 deductible and then 10 percent of whatever the bill is..so it shouldnt be to much. Last night was bothering me..today nothing..stupid back lol. It tenRAB to only bother me at work..so maybe im just stressed more at work and thats what brings it on? I do find that if im angry or stressed it most assuredly will start hurting. No crunching sound that I can think of..when it does start burning I can sometimes twist my body a certain way when Im sitting to lessen the pain..again its not mind nurabing pain but it deffinatly does make me clinch every once in a while.
Also thank you for your quick reply!

You should also google dermatomes and see the diagram they show for which discs are responsible for which areas of the lower body it's rather interesting and maybe you will find the area of your ailment and see if it's attributed to an area that's bothered or gets symptoms from discs. If it's more during work, maybe are you sitting alot and it's your wallet or your shoes/heels, the chair? IDK I'm just thinking of things that may be there that you are doing repetitively or moreso on the days it flares to give you ideas. Maybe clear out that ol wallet and make it thinner so it's less but It may possibly be the posture and the stress, but stress I dont think would settle unless there's a weakness there, I've learned stress found my back ASAP once it started being not so good.

So stress also caused your back to hurt as well? I know I did test with it once to see if being upset or stressed would cause it to hurt, and sure enough it started hurting. I even went without food for 10 hours to see if it would still come back and it did. I will check into the information your provided. I did stop wearing my cuRAB on that side to see if that was the cause. WHen I stand I stand with most of my weight on my right side(side with the pain) The doctor told me that my right hip was slightly rolled forward (if that makes any sense) than the left was...he even asked if I put more weight on that side than usual. Well again thanks for your help. I am looking into finding a new dr in my network..the one i have just keeps throwing muscle relaxers at the problem..I cant take those at work..and I do not like being sleepy at home..
Also my dermatomes area would be LT/L1 where I am getting the pain from..sometimes I can actually feel like I can grab the area where it hurts...yea crazy stuff.

One thing alot of times we forget is that the symptoms we experience do not always indicate how severe the actual problem is. Many times minor symptoms can lead to very major problems. I wouldn't wait around while this gets worse. If you are tired of getting pain pills (as you stated), check around for a reputable chiropractor in your area. No pain pills and many of them have a ton of experience in lower back injuries.
