New to Ducati

I have just put a deposit on a 2008 848, it wont be here till Spring, but I will be able to sit on one in another 20 days. I am pretty excited, I am trading in the Kawi 636, but I have one concern....

I am 6'1" and weight about 220, a guy I work with is a couple inches taller than me and has a bit of a belly and he said Ducati's were made small??? I am wondering if there are any tall riders out there who could give me their feelings on the bike, so I can rest a little easier, both 1098 and 848's.

I had to put a deposit down, the local dealer is 2 hours away and they are only getting in 3-4 white ones, I am number 3. My other option would be to move up to a 1098, but I think that it wouldnt make a difference with the height issue.

I'm 6'0" and about 210. The 1098 fits me fine. The 848 has almost identical ergonomics to the 1098, so it should be a good fit.

Just make sure they set-up you suspension based on you height and weight. I have min out a could of threads bc out the box was no good for me. I'm 6'3" 240Lbs..

If the Shop doesnt adjust it correct, there is an awsome Suspension Shot 20 minutes away, so they can tweak it more.

Cant wait to get the winter over!
 
I too have a 636 keeping mine and the 848 is a perfect fit a taller seat height than the kawi which i liked i'm 6'1, 80kgs = lbs??? so it will be a perfect fit.
 
I got mine done at 800 miles, so it's hard to remember that

I had the Tech at MCC (Dave, I think he is 6' 3" 175lbs) set-it up and bc I was Ignorant to the world of bikes, so I failed to have him write down specifics adjustments (turns).
However the height adjustment is out about three Threads, but I'm not sure if he adjusted the front forks as well.

All I remember him saying that it's almost stiff enough for the track use or something like that ( ).
 
The 848 arrived today!!!

I would take pics, but you all know what they look like. I will wait till the accessories arrive!

Cant drive it till the spring, stupid snow!
