new T3

Thanks for the heads-up. I called the Palm One store and they are completely sold out. Even their outlet store was out. Checked Amazon and there are a couple there that look worth pursuing.

What's wrong buying used T3?
All my palms starting with PalmPro are from second (3rd,4th) hand, and they all are ok.
By the way, for your consideration, bying a NEW electronic device (like palm) - you will have much higher chance that it will brake down shorty after buy(2 weeks) , than if you buy a used device.

Nothing wrong with buying used....I have a Handera 330 I bought used and it is my main "address book". Have bought several used handhelds with excellent luck. A friend of mine wants a new in box T3 and I am trying to help him. I do have a T3 myself and think it is the very best that Palm has released. I am waiting for T5 2nd edition....the LifeDrive is more than I need. Thanks for taking time to reply to my post.

If you get a good lead on T3's new, and especially retail (doubt anything's left but hopeful!) - please PM me. I'm a T3 user and want another as a spare - I think that's the best way to go.

Paul, there are some on Amazon that are described as new....I am always skeptical, due to some bad experiences on EBay. I am afraid anyone wanting a new one will have to get it off Amazon or EBay and just hope they get lucky and find someone honest. I am going to browse some pawnshops in town next time I go in.

Jungle, I will be satisfied with any new in box T3, and I understand some displays are better than others. I am afraid I got the lesser display when I bought mine, but it is still quite good.

Afraid this isn't going to be an easy task....will just have to be patient. Will try to keep you posted if I do any good.

I Googled "PalmOne T3" a few days ago and got two retailers that had new unopened T3s. They were listed on one of the price comparison sites like BizRate. Sadly even though I went to their store sites I have no idea who they were. Not any of the common ones like NewEgg or PCNation.
I own 4 T3 units. Only one was purchased new from Palm. That new one was originally DOA and then replaced with another new unit by Palm. That was back when the T3 was to new to have been refurbished or Palm would have sent one. All of the screens are about the same. Two have digitizer issues. One I use a lot forces you to tap at the very case line to get a response from the bottom row of function buttons. Other than that it flies and I paid $120 with shipping on eBay for the full kit. And it was discribed as having the screen problem.

sorry for the late answer to your post. I did find an open-box T3 on Ebay and I felt good about the sellers feedback. So, bought it and was rewarded with a new unit....still had the original protective cover on the screen.

I went to your linked site and was very surprised to find the new-unopened boxed T3 for $327. That is probably a pretty good buy. I paid a little less than $250 for the open-box I got. I do see new unopened box T3s for around $335-$350 on EBay. I had 1 bad experience on EBay with some hand tools that were supposed to be Protos (very good brand made in USA) and the seller had excellent feedback, but he sent knockoffs. That is why I was reluctant to buy on EBay.
