Not being able to negotiate the price is what precipitated this post initially. Bell has structured this system so that when you are at the Bell store you are basically given an install date; nothing is signed; during the install you tell the installer what package you want including your themes; the installer does not have the authority to discount anything! I have a sneaking suspicion that I will be paying whatever they deem fit to charge me. This system is genius for them.
I live in Windsor, Ontario so I get about 8 HD OTA Detroit channels and about 9 non HD; some from Toledo; although I do live close to the Detroit river/border.
The picture quality of the OTA HD programs are superior to the Bell TV picture. The antenna is basically a wire running along the top of the dish in a half circle; it is hardly noticeable. I don't know the name of the contractor that installed the dish; I will try to find out (he did a tidy install and was very efficient).
I had the Cogeco PVR for years and I must emphasize that after using the Bell PVR since Friday it is far superior in every respect. I do not watch any "live" tv, just recorded.
