New Star Wars Trilogy Coming in 3D?

I hope it's just a rumour. The series ended up being Anakin/Vader's story, and that has already been told from beginning to end. Return of the Jedi was a good ending, there's no need to drag it out beyond that.

I'd be over the moon if it was live action! If it's purely CGI animation, I'd check it out only if it got good reviews.

I think I'd be much more interested in a whole different era of the Star Wars Universe. I've never read any of the books or anything like that, but I stumbled across Wookiepedia recently and it looked like there were plenty of other stories to tell.

Well my other half will be over the moon with this news ..........*groans*:(

So even though it's the same stories, I've got to put up with him watching the whole lot again just because they have special effects?

No bleeding chance. If he can't put up with XF, SCD or BB then I'm not putting up with him watching a repeat of Star Wars with multicoloured rainbow effects added in.

Just rumors but I hope that they eventually turn out to be true. :)

There's PLENTY of stories left to tell. Star Wars is a big universe. As long as people have an imagination, the Star Wars saga can go on indefinitely. Yes the Skywalker story has already been told but there's no reason why they can't do stories of other characters & conflicts. :)

This isn't news! This was 'officially' rumoured over 2 years ago and even a test scene, from the start of episode 4, was was produced and shown. They're just re-mastering if you like, the existing films, into 3D, just like they did with A Nightmare Before Christmas. George Lucas is very keen on doing it, but it'll not be for a while 'cause he's knee deep in the forthcoming live action series.

This isn't ever going to happen. Theatrical Star Wars is finished. The six existing movie will be converted to 3D as confirmed by George Lucas several years ago, but thats all.
