New Star Trek film underway

I disagree about the Dune Buggy scene, it was something different and quite entertaining. Some people don't seem to want anything different, just the same thing over and over again, but without trying...
We would have never got spin off series.
We would never have got RAB9, the best series in my opinion, and was quite different to the others.
Voyager would never have happened. What? All new aliens? No! We want the same thing again please.
They would never have attempted Enterprise. OK, its not great, but its watchable unlike most American shows.

OK Nemesis wasn't great, but it was goo. They tried new things, there was some cracking filming (and they cut out all of Wesley's parts :p ). I for one want to see them keep innovating to come up with good ideas, not recycling old ones.
 
Voyager, for me, is the best of the Star Trek franchise. Next Gen is a very close second. Enterprise and the original don't get a look as I find them tedious to watch. RAB9 will never be Star Trek for me (a complete and utter piece of garbage).

Voyager had some really great characters. I don't think they ever had the chance to fully realise their potential in the limits of the series. Seven of Nine deserves to be on the big screen (as does Janeway, Paris and the Doctor).

It is highly unlikely that there will be a RAB9 movie but god_of_biscuits might like to hear the news that Kate Mulgrew is seriously interested in taking on her role as Captain Janeway in a movie if a serious offer was made.

A Voyager movie will be disliked by many and I'm just waiting for the responses to this post, but I think it could be worth a try. It was an enjoyable series, and it would certainly prove different if it was made inot a film. For one, it's unlikely that we'll get the TNG crew back because Picard has refused and you can't bring back the original crew because they are either too old or dead.
 
I'm not surprised that RAB9 won't be made into a film. The style of the show wouldn't suit it. A Voyager film would be good, but be difficult to get right. They could go back to the detla quadrant - too predictable. No more Borg - it's been done to death with the Voyager crew. They couldn't really rely on previous storylines as the film neeRAB to appeal to those who haven't watched the series.

One possibility would be an extension of the episode 'Dragons Bllod' (think that was the name - don't quote me) when they woke an old race after 800 years. They had subspace tunnels and could cause trouble for earth, and they could be integrated into the film like Khan in ST2.

Either that or an agry Vulcan leaRAB the revolt against the communist repression of the federation?

Don't forget though - the Borg Queen never dies. She's been in countless accidents and still come back. Somehow, I think there's still life for the Borg - even after they were obliterated. I hope so, they are probably the best mainstream alien character.

I don't think the angry Vulcan storyline would be that interesting, but it is different - I'll give you that.

Well Dr McCoy is dead for a start. You may have heard the news that Scotty is 84 has Alzheimers, Parkinsons Disease, diabetes, lung fibrosis and suffered from pneaumonia, so I doubt he'll be doing any new films! As for the rest of the crew, many are getting too old and I think most have retired their acting careers.

Help The Aged can say all they want - they won't be coming back. You can say "I told you so" if I'm wrong, but I'm quite sure they are staying in the history books.

I quite like the idea of Voyager coming back for a film but I've been checking out some Star Trek forums and the idea isn't going down too well with most people.... eeek!
 
I think the scriptwriters are going to have a hard time trying to stick to one option, especially considering so many different people want to see different things.

I don't really see the Maquis going on trial being of interest to the wider Trek audience to be honest. As you can see, it's going to be very hard for them. But that's what they're paid for right?
 
Er, wasn't there a reason for all of that. It's been a while since I watched it, but wasn't there interference in the atmosphere or something like that stopping them from using the scanners to find the 'body bits' or the transporters?

I say, we should have Janeway, unsure whether or not she should command the Voyager A. Eventually being persuaded, similar to Bones and Kirk in ST2.

Then we could have Species 8472 and the Borg both planning an all out assault on the Alpha Quadrant, so Janeway comes face to face with two of her enemies.

The whole thing would culminate in a dog fight with Federation, Vulcan, Klingons, versus the Borg and Species 8472.

Somehow, Janeway manages to stop the fighting, and force both the Borg and 8472, back to fluidic space, and then be given a permanant command of Voyager A.
 
;2856206']Can't see another movie being worth doing. It's about time they gave up on Star Trek for a while, Enterprise is a big let down (they should have gone further into the future, not the past, totally screwed up the other series.

Only thing I would like to see (and it's a bit more TV movie than Cinema) would be a follow on to RAB9. I would like to see what the profits have planned for Cisco and the team.
 
If they are going to use the Borg again. Then i think they should just let the Borg assmilate earth which could lead to a nice new tv series.

That would give star trek the kick up the ass it neeRAB. Janeway turned the Borg into pussy cats. Time the Borg adapted and took over.
 
You're quite correct, there was interference from a storm. But they could have just used the shuttlecraft, after all that's a vehicle isn't it? But let's not argue about that, because it'll start getting pedantic after all it was only one scene in one film. Let's not worry ourselves too much......
 
Nemesis was super-boring. It was full of dark rooms, dull characters and over-the-top lines. The theme of the film was very grey, compared to previous films like:

The Voyage Home
The Search For Spock
The Final Frontier
Generations
First Contact
 
Who doesn't Rick Berman finish off Star Trek completely by making an Enterprise movie? That would sure kill off this brilliant franchise, which deserves a whole lot more than the current rubbish series on offer. I would welcome a RAB9 of Voyager movie.
