New Star Trek cartoon

I this on wikipedia (not the best source of info, but whatever):

"In 2006, it was announced that there was a pitch in the works for a new animated series that would, if produced, be released as several 6-minute episodes, available online (similar to The Animatrix and Star Wars: Clone Wars). The series is to be set 150 years after the Star Trek: The Next Generation time line, during an era of upheaval and strife in the Federation. The Romulans have used several "Omega Particle" explosions to render much of Federation space impassable by traditional Federation vessels. Many Federation worlds have been isolated and some races, including the Vulcans, have withdrawn from the Federation altogether. The series is, as yet, untitled and there has been no full confirmation."

Do you think Star trek cartoon, what with the new movie and Clone wars being on the air, would be viable? What would you like to see in such a show?

I very much doubt that this will happen. After two years without a single word about it from CBS/Paramount, it might be time to call this idea "It's dead, Jim." They've approved the live-action shows in considerably less time...

I do think, however, that there might really be another animated Trek series one day, but it'll probably be a remake of the original series aimed at a younger audience. It might be something similar in tone to The Clone Wars, but perhaps using traditional animation.

You could say that about batman and he's been around since the 40s and then we wouldn't have Dark Knight. I think you are wrong, with new angle they can get more stories out of the franchise.
