I think it's obvious which updated role Brand will be taking ...

I loved the St Trinian's films when I was a kid. I can't really imagine that they can be successfully updated without quite a lot of tonal changes as they were made in a more innocent (or at least less accusatory) age when it was possible for no one to bat an eyelid at Alastair Sim in drag or Flash Harry hanging around the girls' dorms at night. They have to be dreadfully politically incorrect and very pro-selective and private education, otherwise they won't work. SounRAB like they might be with that cast but will they be aimed at adults or kiRAB I wonder?

The last film was in 1980. That and the 1960s one didn't work for me. Maybe it was the colour though ...
