New Service, New Phone.. Need your help!

So, I have decided to cancel my service with Verizon, and I'm now in the market for a new cell phone and plan. I need a smartphone with ultimate app and messaging features. I do not want android or the iphone. I've used blackberrys and love them, and have been drooling over the palm pre for sprint. I want reliable service and a kickass phone for at most $70/month. I don't care about the price for a phone, though. Any help would be awesome.

Dislikes-
Android- Not as professional as I would like. Had Droid and Eris, don't care for either.
iPhone- Service isn't good. Three of my close friends in my area have it and constantly have dropped calls.
Blackberry- App store isn't up to date, some of the applications don't seem to be getting attention.
I was looking into Palm Web OS but I'm not sure.

Well then I guess your choice is made. The Curve 8530 is $49 on a 2 year after a MIR, the Palm Pixi is $99, the Pre is $149 and the Tour is $149. Any idea which one you're leaning towards?

The Pre or the Tour, but the Pre doesn't seem like it's getting noted for the amazing things it can do. Well, I'm not sure how amazing because I've never actually seen it in action. I'm intrigued by the Palm more than the Tour, but I know the Tour would be stable for me. Hmmmmm.

I would personally go for the Pre, even though it is rumoured to have build quality issues. I find that BBs have dreadful operating systems, take 10 minutes to turn on and I've seen a couple fall apart, they're just not very polished or user friendly. New ones may be better, but I'm unsure. The keyboard on the Tour should be much nicer though.

OK. So you are dropping your current carrier. Exactly why are you doing this?

And before making the switch, you need to pick a replacement before you pick the device. Find a carrier that has coverage where you wll use the device. then pick the phone. Don't guess on coverage. Do your homework. You might find out Verizon is still the best.

IMHO, it is a smarter move to stay with what you know than go with what you don't.

I agree. Exactly why are you leaving Verizon. I find their service "uh-maz-ing."
Which interface do you like better? The BlackBerry's or the Palm's?
IMO, I think that the Palm Pre is ugly as can be. But that's just my opinion.
