In an ideal world, everyone should have a naked bike....
The Brutale is a sharp-handling, hard-riding, fast and completely manic machine. It needs to be ridden with 100% focus, or not at all. It is also difficult to live with and suffers from its fair share of warranty/reliability issues (check out the owners' forums). Parts are hard to come by, though reputedly better now that the company has been rescued by HD.
My own opinion is that the Monster is about as iconic as a naked bike can be. It is beutifully minimalist when compared to the purposely-ugly Speed Triple. Though the Triple is, in my view, still a brilliant ride and a far better performer than the otherwise better-looking Monster series.
