New SD US channel billing $1 charge?

Except that customers who subscribed to the HD package once got the SD "other coast" nets for free. Then someone at EV decided, "Hey, we can screw them out of an extra $1/mo and pretend it was a mistake." Current policy is not at issue. Past policy and the way it was "corrected" is.

This is what this hole thread is all about...

The clients who DO have the US NETWORK for 1$ a month SHOULD GET BOTH E&W stations in SD

Clients with HD package DO NOT NEED to add the US NETWORK to get both E&W stations. This is ALREADY INCLUDED in the HD value pack

We had a problem with our system recently and clients who DO NOT SUSCRIBE to US networks WERE GETTING THE STATIONS when they shoudn't had. This problem HAS BEEN CORRECTED and the stations were removed from the client's programming that didn't suscribed to the US network. If they still want to get the US network they would need to call us and SUSCRIBE to the US network

Even if you complain about this there is no way we could change this. We didn't take anything from anybody, nor change policy or prices, we only made a mistake, correct it and advised clients of the situation. We can not compensate you for no longer getting what you weren't supposed to be getting in the first place

Hope this clarifies the situation!

US netwok extra feed was always at 1$ perhaps you are talking about something else

We didn't screw anybody...

That's why we removed the channels that clients were not supposed to received, advise them on their bill of the situation, and told them that they need to suscribe if they want the channels

We would have crew you up if we automaticcaly decide that you wanted those channel and that we added them whithout your consent, which is not the case!

The $1 fee for the "other coast" US networks started as an add on to the US Nets theme pack in the Legacy packages. The new packages include the "same coast" US nets in digital basics at no extra charge so that theme pack has disappeared. The $1 charge remains.

I received all SD US nets as part of the old HD Nets theme pack. The deal was that if you had both SD and HD receivers the SD nets were included. Of course, someone here will say that never happened but I know a lot of people who got them that way.

The uproar being raised on this is the fact that with HD nets the SD E&W feeds were included. Then sometime last year they were removed and you had to call Bell because they said they made a mistake and if you called them they would put them back into your package for no extra charge. Stop being such a fanboy and read the posts.

P.S this remark was aimed at Playing TV Fan

So let me get this straight. Should I be getting the E&W SD netorks if I have the HD pack? Without the $1 fee?

Again, I had a csr told me when I added HD Pack (and HD receiver) that I no longer would need to pay the $1 for the extra US Nets, that they (SD extra nets) were included with the HDPACK.

You will get both E&W feed in HD, but still have to pay the 1$ extra for the SD extra feed

I just switched to the new packages and lost the west SD nets (previously free with HD Nets.) I don't think anyone as EV knows what is going on either. Not that I really need them with the HD nets. The other half likes to watch PBS SD once in a while though.

If you live in the West you get the West part of US net and you need to pay the 1$ for the East

If you live in the East you get the East part of the US net and need to pay the 1$ for the West

Do see why you call this a West tax...or why you will say this is unfair

A better way to put it is:

You will only get both sets of US SD networks if you pay $1 more.

It doesn't matter if you have HD or not. With the HD pack you'll still get both time zones in HD. It's bizarre, but it sounds like that's the way it's going to be.

Maybe the US networks were asking Bell for more money to distribute both versions? Otherwise it makes no sense because virtually no one will sign up for the $1 per month, and it will tick off customers to lose something we've been getting.

What part are you people not getting?

There shoudn't even be a discussion here...

If you want both E&W feeds in SD you need TO SUSCRIBE TO US NETWORKS

Some clients, according to Agent Express V go the SD extra feed free. WHEN THEY WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO!

They know what's goign on at Express Vu and Agent Express V has been trying to explain you over and over.

If you have the HD Value pack you will get both E&W feed in HD, but you will have to pay the extra 1$ for the US networks to be able to have the extra SD feed

This is exactly what the bill was saying...

Oh, ok. That's wasn't clear from the brochures. I stand corrected.

West get MC and west US nets; East gets TMN and east US nets. Either gets SD US nets they DON'T get for $1 more. And both get BOTH west/east nets for $10 as part of the HD programming package.

(MC and TMN are exclusive to their territories and cost extra as they are not part of Digital Standard.)
