When Altell went to AT&T (or whatever happened) my grandfather and I got our new phones. We both got the Samsung sgh-a777 or something.
But the instructions said that all you needed to do to activate the phone was turn it off, put SIM card in and charge it (I'm pretty sure that's the right order) I didn't know what that was so I couldn't find it, but I found out that it was already in the phone.
But it they aren't activated yet be because we can still use Our old phones and the switch happened the 6th. They should work. But they both say 'SIM not provisioned MM#2' and when I try to make a call it says 'Emergency calls only'.
