PNW Rider recommended me a store in Auburn, WA and I found their prices absolutely unbelievable. See it for yourself here
Prices may be for online purchases only, I'm not sure. [Although I spend 8+ hours at the computer daily, I'm not an online shopper]. But I sure will go to the Hinshaws MC Store on my way to CA this summer.
Since you have a brand new C50, you may wanna watch out for oil stains on the shaft side of the rear tire. I have a thread going here

It looks like I'm looking at about $220 for a back rest.
Some more questions if you don't mind.
1)Are throw over saddlebags any good? Do you still need the mounting brackets?
2)Do you guys do your 600 mile service yourselves or let your dealer do it?

As far as I understand (?), to keep your warranty valid, 600 mile/1000km service or any service in the first year (if you can hit the second service in the first year) must be performed at a Suzuki shop.

I would stick to bolt on bags. Just my opinion, I just prefer the clean look of them over throw overs,,,,,:bluethum:
I did my own 600 mile service on my C90, granted it has hydraulic lifters so no valve adjustment was necessary, but valve adjustments are no big deal once you've done one.

I ordered my sissy bar/back rest for $249 and will have to wait on saddlebags.
I'm comfortable doing everything on the 600 mile service except for the valves. Will it even be necessary to check valves that soon? The last valves I adjusted were on a honda 400ex quad. Not too tough,just remove the tank and some other small items and there the valve caps lay. Probably not as easy on the boulevard though. I'll go ahead and get a haynes shop manual and check it out. I got 300 more miles before my first service.

I noticed what you may be talking about on the left side of my rear tire. Didn't look like oil but maybe like armorall, very strange. Oh well, I'll keep an eye out and for now I don't see reason for alarm.
I checked with two different stealers on the 600 mile service today. The first one said about $250 including checking the valves. The dealer I bought the bike from was very open and said they charge $140 to do everything except the valves. Then to check valves and adjust if need is an additional $168.
He was saying there should'nt be need to adjust the valves unless your burying the throttle and driving like some yahoo, speed shifting and carrying on.
I ordered my shop manual and will see how tough the valve job seems and tackle it myself if it seems simple enough.
With just under 300 miles, I can see where this bike will be much fun on the curvy, country roads surrounding me. Just have to remember not to lean to far so I don't grind the frame. BTY, would grinding always spell disaster?:bluethum:

I was told by the dealer that the warrenty is not void if you do your maintaince, but if you want to sell your bike down the road and still have a warrenty left on it. you cant transfer the warrenty to the other person without having a service done at a qualifed dealership. At least its only one!

I took the sticker off my fuel tank and did the tag relocate mod.

Got 500 miles on her and took my wife to church on it this morning, Brought her home and run up to the store and I can really hear that sewing machine now. Also, getting stronger by the mile, very pleased.:bluethum:
I talked about valve adjustment at 600 mile service and my clymers manual doesn't mention valves until 15,000 mile service. Go figure, oh well I believe I'm going to let them service the 1st and then maybe I'll do thereafter.
