New ?Pound Puppies? Series In Development

as awesome as that might be, I doubt they remember'em

Besides WHICH versions of those characthers? between season 1 and 2 there was a major retool of characthers

My guess is they will go for all new characthers

As I said a few posts back, unless Hanna-Barbera (now Cartoon Network Studios) is involved in the production of this show, then most likely not, since Cooler and company were creations of H-B.

Plus, if I recall, weren't those invented for the cartoon in the first place, then made into toys?

Overall, I wouldn't call this a revival of an 80s cartoon so much as a new cartoon based on the latest incarnation of an 80s toyline.

If I recall correctly the tv special and the movie were not done by HB and they used the Puppy characters, so I assume the Puppy characters could be used again.

Is just me or is Pound Puppies starting to sound like a legal rights mess, I mean really the toys have been made by how many companies?

That said, I think I could see them reusing the names but they would those characters in name only.

The only reason I still care about this show is because of whopper,I just liked him because he wore a diaper (I like cartoons in diapers),thats why I wasn't crazy about the original special or legend of bigpaw movies (he either didn't appear or didn't have a diaper).

If the new series has whopper,I might consider watching it.

Once again, Hanna Barbera isn't producing this new Pound Puppies series, so it's not likely that Whopper, or any of the other characters who were created specifically for the H-B show will be used here. It's possible, but not likely.

About the diaper thing....a little too much information.

Johnny, Neal Adams owns the rights to the Bucky O'Hare characters through his Continuity Comics label. And if even though Hasbro has got the episodes of Bucky O'Hare through Sunbow, they would have to consult with Neal Adams before, or get him to produce a new Bucky O'Hare cartoon for the Hub.

But, I'm pretty sure they got the old Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars cartoon in their arsenal, as well as Conan the Adventurer, which was also produced by Sunbow. But the character was created by Robert E. Howard, so Conan Properties Inc. owns the rights to the character.

Now, Micronauts is one show that I would love to see besides Jem and the Holograms. And, I've got an idea for my fanfic where Jem meets the Micronauts! Look for it in the Story Board!

Kenny :D
