Imminent phones:
Kyocera S4000 low end clamshell with VGA camera i'm sure none of you are interested in. The accessories for this bad boy are already available for dealers to order from Brightpoint, so I'm sure the phone itself is coming soon. http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=1501
Motorola V3s: Tri-band version of the V3a. probably going to be in a dark blue color. They told us a few weeks after the V3a was discontinued and the dummy phones are available. Again I'm sure this phone will be appearing soon.

we received them in yesterday. they are not EVDO. it is basically the V3a with tri-band minus video capture. the spun blue metal shell is actually pretty nice looking.

The s4000 is a piece of crap, metro has it. It was released, 2 weeks later it was removed from the shelves because its the most defecting piece of crap to hit the market. Metro also has the V3s which is also a piece of crap.

Seems kinda decent to me but hey atleast they adding more to the line up eventually it'll have a larger variety. The Kyocera S4000 i heard is supposed to be like a "katana" since Kyocera and Sanyo made sometype of business venture together, so i guess this might be the result of that; nonetheless Kyocera IMO is one of the worst phones makers out there Lol

Funny that Kyocera is one of the worst phones out there, since they are also made by qualcomm, which owns cricket. I am happy to see a razr though, there is a ton of stuff that one can do with the moto's that are harder with other branRAB.
I would love a aws smartphone/pda.. How how sweet that would be.

Qualcomm sold the hanRABet division to Kyocera many years ago. Qualcomm only makes the chipsets and holRAB the license rights to CDMA technology. Leap Wireless actually owns cricKet Communications. Leap was spin-off of Qualcomm and was incorporated in June of 1998.

man my feelings on kyocera are so mixxed... first off, kyocera's main target is the value segment, i.e. getting the most bang for your buck. that means a qwerty keyboard and 1.3 mp camera for as cheap as possible (the lingo). or a flip phone with web browser as cheap as possible (the k132) et. al... they actually made a couple good ones here and there but the majority of what they produce is, as most would agree, just crap... I can't wait to see what kind of influence sanyo has on their hanRABets... and i don't think the s4000 is a derivative of that yet, it has not been long enough.

why why why. anyone that buys a razr is not into it for the features any more. they just want a razr, there are, and have been for some time, phones similarly priced with better features for some time.
for example take the myshot vs the v3s, the difference boils down to this: the myshot actually has a better camera (1.3mp vs vga) for $50 less, but loses the video playback capability of the v3s (which is marginally important since you cannot capture video clips.)

or the identically priced r500, which, tho lacking tri-band since it is an older model, adRAB video recording, expandable storage, music player, a2dp support, and upgrades the camera to 1.3 MP over the v3s, at the expense of full support for OBEX.
