Hello,

I currently have a v551 Motorola with Cingular and my gf has a prepaid with Tmobile.

I've been satisfied with Cingular in the past, don't really have any complaints. My phone was recently run over by a car and now drops calls left and right. That said, my contract with Cingular is up and my gf and I are looking to get into a family plan (we've been dating for a long long time, no lectures.)

We're considering Tmobile and Verizon as they both offer cheaper plans with more minutes than the similiar Cingular options. Her prepaid gets reception where we live and my Cingular phone rarely doesn't have a signal. We live in 98226 zipcode if that matters.

We're both very open to suggestions as neither of us keeps ontop of the newest phone technologies.

She isn't to particular on what she wants in her phone. Something reliable, flip style on the smaller side, "Razr-ish."

I'd like something on the smaller side as well, I don't really have any complaints about the size of my v551. Something that can access the internet and check emails would be neat (if it doesn't increase the price of the plan significantly) but I don't need one of those out of control PDA style phones. I have to admit that accessing the internet would just be a luxury option and isn't entirely necessary. I want something reliable and consistant..it doesn't have to be the latest and greatest...more tried and true. I don't use blue tooth but might be open to it in the future. I think most other options would be neat but I have an Ipod to play mp3s and internet at home.

Thank you for the help.

You should look at where you will be using the phone - where you live, work, travel etc. Talk to friends, co-workers as well. Then pick a carrier. Even the cheapest phone/plan is too expensive if you don't have a good signal. Once you have the carrier, then pick the phone.

Verizon and Cingular have the best coverage, followed by Sprint and T-Mobile. I assume the 98226 zip code is the West Coast?

Verizon is good in washington sister works with verizon shes a lawyer and handles the cell tower land stuff in that area and other and verizon you can get a razr pretty cheap they have many phones like you wanted the chocolates krazrs slvr even the moto maxx now so there plenty to choose from there.
