New palm device

Ok, I have tried all of the digitizer fixes known to all for the TT. I can't stand it anymore. I have to get a device. Do I go with a Zire or a T E2?? I really just use if for the datebook, addys and playing games. Thanks for your input!

My T3 sent me round the bend with digitiser problems. In the end, I sent it to PalmOne and they fixed it just like that. It was returned to me within the week and it's been perfect every since... Just saying it might be worth checking out what it would cost for them to take a look....
Having said that the TE2 is an excellent device from what I've heard, and should be a pretty good price. You might be able to find an old T3 being sold off in some store....

I looked into a long time ago aand they wanted an outrage amount of $$ because it was out of warranty. May have to look into it again, if it's less than a new one. Thanks

I, too, sent my T3 to Palm to have them fix the digitizer. It was off by almost 1/4 inch on some areas of my screen! It was still under warranty. (I bought my T3 early Oct 03 and sent it for repair July 04.) Service was prompt and I have not encountered any digitizer drift since then. It's been working like a champ.

Palm's web site lists Out Of Warranty Repair costs for the Tungsten T at $125.

The Zire 72 and Tunsten E2 will cost about twice that. ... You could go either way, depending on how much money you wanted to spend and whether you wanted to spend the additional money for a new Palm. I'm sorry I can't be of much more help.

If you're willing to take a big risk, (i.e. try and repair it yourself) and then buy a replacement if all goes horribly wrong, there are guides that people have written on how to fix it yourself...
Do a few searches either here or at rabroad.com or google, and you should be able to find what I'm talking about. If not, let me know and I'll try and locate it..
$125 does seem like a huge amount.

Thank you! I did take it apart last week and now it's worse than ever! The first time I took it apart it was better for a short time. I just placed an order for the E2. I dont make any voice memos so I thought this would best suit me needs.

If you go with a new product,
Cough up the bucks for a T5,
right now it goes for $499.00 with a WiFi card, which is the only thing it is missing,
I say this because if you like games, then you will love the T5 games.

cheers

The fact that taking it apart actually made a difference I would say was a good indication (seriously). It would suggest that following the right method you could actual sort it..
Anyway, hope you enjoy the E2, I'm sure it'll be a worthwhile upgrade.
