Jack,

Hi, I am so sorry about you new onset of pain. I have had 5 surgeries and I understand exactly where you are coming from. It is hard to go thru major surgery and only to have the pain return.

Before you last surgery, did you have a discogram? Discograms hurt like the dickens but they give the surgeon such necessary information concerning the exact location of your pain. Sometimes an area can look like the culprit and the nice quiet level can really be the area of pain.

My biggest advice is to find a good pain mgmt doc and see if they can make you comfortable so that you can learn to cope you situation and you might include your wife in these appts so that she can voice her opinion.

Hugs, Pepper

Yes I had a discogram before surgery it show all 3 disc a problem. They side L-2 was good ., but the did not check s-1 or s-2 . Thanks for your input. The pain is better but as soon as I try doing anything like clothes walking for more than 15 mins. I have to lay down for a couple hours. Thanks again 123:angel::angel::angel:

Jackpate, I am glad that you have had a discogram and I pray that you have not developed a newer problem. Unfortunately, once you have surgery it is likely that a level above or below the surgery will go because it is taking on the additional workload so to speak of the spine. One never knows how long that they have between other levels/complications developing. Between my first and second surgery, I had 20 years then between surgery 2 and 6, I have had only 4 years.

Also please try to think positive and realize that sometimes after surgery it is so easy to overdo and it can take up to a year or more to recover from said surgery. I hope that this is simply a flare up and matter of inflammation. Have they tried a course of steroiRAB?

I had my mylogram and now after being fused from l3 to s-1 my l-2 has a bulge in it . they side that is why my upper part of my leg is hurting. I was suppose to have work harden about a month ago . I am woundering if i am going to have to it know are if Dr. will just go ahead with the FCE. I have drop foot to and it has only been 7 months since my surgery and i already dealing with another disc problem. Just wondering if I have a say so with the work harden since I already having problems. Thanks for any help!!!!!!!!!!!

If the bulge is new since your surgieries, and was not present on your prior MRI, I don't think he would do work hardening, also since dr said it is why your new part of your leg is hurting. If it is a new problem, depending on what the dr says with treatment for that problem, I doubt he would order a FCE yet, as this would now not make u MMI if he is going to haveto treat this, whether it be with an epidural steriod injection (probably) or talk of surgery if it is too problematic. Crap shoot on his opinion of your recent development. Cant see a FCE being done if a new problem has arisen though.

Hope you get good treatment, and some pain relief.
