I'm sorry everyone for not being perfectly clear as I'm not French yet I still manage to make grammatical errors!
I used to be an Xvu customer years ago!
I finally managed to heel the wounds inflicted upon me by Bell and am willing with one eye open to try their service again!
I beleive I will activate the recently purchased 9242 then get a 6141 rental and keep my fingers crossed on the $300 credit!

there's no need to hurry in buying a 6141 (mpeg4) box right now. BellTV could be sold or file bankruptcy in the future. Besides, the price of 6141 ird will drop as time goes by. You can get better deals if u wait after the mpeg4 transition.

Good call.

The main thing that annoys me is that when you Rent a receiver from Bell TV, when you are an existing customer, as you will be, you HAVE to pay for it's installation, minimum of $75, even if it happens to be replacing an existing receiver and you obviously have a line right where it is needed.

Have fun, let us know how smooth it all goes.....

Watch for promo deals. As an existing customer, you may have to pay the rental certificate fee, but in every case I've heard about and for me personally, there was no installation charge for my 9200 and the rental cert fee was credited back on the next bill so it cost me nothing, and included 2 years free rental.

You could always sell your old receivers back to Bell and buy or rent some new ones.

He could, but Bell gives way less than he could obtain on the internet...

If you want to sell the old receivers better to sell them on line (hrought Kijiji or E-Bay) or throught a garage sale. You will get more $$$ that way

The client has, in all rental cases, to pay a rental certificate
That rental certificate is credited back on the first bill after you activated the
receiver (unless billing system screws it up, as if often happens)

The 2 years free rental is a retention offer often used. It is not a current promo

There is a promotion called Nimiq2 free upgrade... It entitles client that currently don't have a HD receiver or channels requiring Nimiq2 to upgrade their dish to get them. The client then gets free install of the HD receiver and upgrade or pay the upgrade piece (if he has a standard receiver) upfront, gets it installed then gets credited on the first bill after. To qualify client has to add channels requiring the upgrade piece (HD/AOV Movies/International channel/Male FliXXX/Salt&Light/ect...) AND keep them for a period of 6 months

In the case of a client that already had a HD receiver he is therefore not eligible for the promo, and has to pay for the installation, since rentals are always required to be professionally installed
